Partial Nail Avulsion (Ingrown Toenail Surgery)
For severe or recurrent ingrown toenails, the most effective treatment is a partial nail avulsion.
✅ Only the problematic edge of the nail is removed - not the entire nail
✅ A chemical is applied to prevent that section from growing back
✅ Often referred to as “nail surgery,” though it is a minor procedure
What to expect

Performed under local anaesthetic (a small injection to numb the toe)
No stitches are usually required
The procedure is quick and well tolerated

Healing & recovery

Dressings are typically needed for 1-2 weeks
Healing time can vary slightly depending on the individual
After healing, the nail appears slightly narrower, with good cosmetic results

Tennant Podiatry welcome New Patients at our practice.

Our New Patient appointment is a comprehensive 1-hour consultation, with an additional 30 minutes provided free of charge.

This extended session allows us to fully understand your concerns, assess your foot health, and begin treatment during the same visit. We will take a detailed medical history and carry out a thorough examination, including evaluation of blood flow, nerve function, and foot mechanics (vascular, neurological, and biomechanical assessment).

Using the latest technology, we will also perform a laser foot scan to identify any postural or pressure-related issues that may be contributing to problems such as corns, hard skin, or foot pain.

At the end of your appointment, you will receive a written summary of your foot health, along with a personalised treatment plan and a detailed foot scan report.
