Surprise Birthday BBQ For Gel 🎂❤️

Last week, all our staff and residents were in on the secret 50th birthday party for Home Manager Gel! Deputy Manager Paul, kept her busy all morning whilst the home was decorated and the BBQ was lit 🔥

Kitchen Team, Adele and Jenjira cooked up the perfect birthday cake and Maintenance Op, Ronnie was outside doing the BBQ (despite the weather!) ☔️

Once Gel arrived and was thoroughly surprised, the party was started and we all got up for a dance 💃🕺

We hope you had a lovely weekend of celebrations, Gel ❤️

🍦 Mrs Whippy Returns!🍦

When it is “SCORCHIO!” outside, you can count on Mrs Whippy, aka WISH Activity Team member Brenda, to make her rounds delivering ice cream to our ladies, gents and staff ❤️

Brenda said, “Mrs Whippy getting on a bit, so it was lovely to have Lynne to help serve delicious ice cream cornets to help with this heat. We visited rooms too which was a lovely surprise for our residents, whilst playing the ice cream van music to add to the nostalgia - the smiles where priceless. Staff enjoyed a well deserved treat too, we had plenty to go around . Who knows maybe Mrs Whippy will be back very soon!” 🥰

Jenny’s Volunteering Update! 💗

After sharing the news of our lovely lady, Jenny on her first volunteering shift in our local Salvation Army charity shop, we thought we’d give you all an update 🥰

Jenny still very much looks forward to her afternoon volunteering, from replenishing rails, to tidying the shop, she enjoys the purpose and responsibility given to her… and the discount on all the clothes and brick-a-brac 😉

Well done to Jenny for keeping up her volunteering position and the staff that her facilitate and support her every week 👏

Hayley & Jenny’s Jolly to Southport 🚌☀️

On a fabulously sunny Friday, our lovely Care Assistant Hayley took Jenny out on a shopping trip on the bus to Southport ❤️

Off they went from Ormskirk bus station, first they bought some clothes, then visited the marina to watch the singers and got a nice ice cream too! Jenny was made up with a lovely trip out… although the bus broke down on way home but Jenny didn’t mind and sat finishing of her salad 🥰

Where will they go next? 🚌

🫧 World Hand Hygiene Day 🫧

This week our ladies, gents and staff took part in World Hand Hygiene Day!

Our residents, Brian and Jenny where keen to show us how they washed their hands and they were just perfect, we must say! Everyone also demonstrated about how important it is to wash your hands properly with the pepper experiment 🔬

A squeaky clean day indeed 🫧

Dementia Choir Day 💙💛

Last week we headed back to one of the best community groups - Memories R Made Dementia Choir!

Our ladies and gents had a lovely walk in the glorious sunshine on our way to the group, with lots of laughs along the way. Everyone had a fantastic time as always and we can’t wait to head back again 🥰🎶

💃 National Dance Day🕺

On Wednesday it was National Dance Day so we got our dancing shoes on and had a fun afternoon of all musical genres! From hip hop, to the twist, even Jenny and Lynne were morris dancing 😂

WISH Activity Team member Brenda said, “Our residents who came along thought the hip hop dance was brilliant! I had a go at break dancing and got some funny looks. We also had a quiz naming all the different dances and tried incorporating them all so as you can imagine lots of laughs along the way! Dancing is so good for our residents well-being and rightly so it should be celebrated.” ❤️👏

April has been a fantastic month from start to finish! We started the month with a lovely long and sunny weekend celebrating all things Easter - eating plenty of chocolate but also gathering together and celebrating the arrival of spring.

World Art Day 🎨🖼️

Last week our ladies and gents celebrated World Art Day and so we had a Arty Party and it was brilliant! We have some budding artists amongst our residents who really enjoyed showing of their artistic skills 👩‍🎨🥰

Our WISH Activity Team held a quiz too, naming all the famous artists that we knew and we enjoyed a few chocolate biscuits. Some of our residents made flowers which Brian enjoyed making and he’d promised Home Manager Gel one, so he delivered it personally to her - how very sweet ❤️
