I am so used to being the one supporting my clients but today it was my turn as i needed some help. I completely understand how difficult it is to reach out but i am so glad i did because I had the pleasure of having the girls from Jelenas company A Clean Sweep at my home. Highly recommend this great local business! 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟

International ME/CFS Day is not just about awareness, it is deeply personal. Living with ME/CFS has taught me what it means to fight battles that most people never see.

You can look “fine” on the outside while quietly managing exhaustion, pain, and carefully measuring every bit of energy just to get through the day.

The hardest part is often not just the illness itself, but the lack of understanding, the quiet disbelief and feeling like you have to explain your reality simply because you look okay.

It is a journey that can feel incredibly lonely, and one that cannot truly be understood unless you have lived it.

Today, I stand with everyone facing invisible illness, carrying strength in silence and continuing on, even on the hardest days.

Twelve years ago today, I closed the door on a career that had been my world for eighteen years.

What I didn’t leave behind were the people.
Some friendships are built in the middle of busy days, shared pressure, laughter, chaos, and the kind of office banter no script writer could ever truly capture.

My last day was full of drama, reports, and the usual last-minute madness right up until the very end. True to form, we all left together as a team.

At 45, I stepped into the unknown. I was training to become a therapist, with no real idea of what was ahead and absolutely no experience of running a business.
I’m sure some people thought I’d lost the plot.

But sometimes life asks you to trust yourself before you feel ready. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is take the leap.

Looking back now, I feel nothing but gratitude. For where I came from, for the people who were part of that chapter, and for the path that led me here.
Twelve years later, I’m proud I listened to that quiet voice that said… there is more for you.
And it was right.

A personal reflection on sibling bereavement, dedicated to my brother who's legacy continues to help others each and every day.

I remember so vividly the last Easter Weekend we had with you. I saw things that can never be unseen, unwordly sounds of grief, decisions I wish we were spared. The Robin that sat at the window, the very last time I heard you say my name.

The Easter eggs you never got to eat, the sadness on the faces of your life long friends when they came to say goodbye, yet I saw love, compassion and kindness whilst emotionally being thrown around in the eye of the storm, like many other families who find themselves in the hellish world of Cancer.

I knew the essence of you had already gone and I would never see you smile or hear you laugh. How i longed for you to call me smelly, stick your finger in my ear, pinch me or the host of other annoying things you did 🤦‍♀️ but thats what big brothers do or at least mine did.
I got lucky.

I remember waiting until the very last minute to turn my head away from, yet I was compelled to stop, step back and look at you just one more time.. I somehow knew at that moment, it would be the last time .. and it was. 💔

To all my clients and followers, wishing you a peaceful and relaxing Easter Sunday. 🐣

Today is International Women's Day.
A day to pause for a moment and recognise the quiet strength so many women carry.

In my therapy room I meet women from all walks of life. Women who are holding families together while feeling exhausted inside. Women navigating grief, anxiety, burnout, loss, change. Women who have spent years being strong for everyone else.
And yet, beneath all of that, there is always something powerful still present.
Resilience. Courage. A deep capacity to heal.

Sometimes the bravest thing a woman does is not pushing through.
Sometimes it is finally allowing herself to slow down, to speak honestly about how she feels, and to accept support.
Healing is not weakness.
It is an act of strength.

Today I’m thinking of every woman doing the quiet work of caring for others while learning, slowly and gently, to care for herself too.

And if today feels heavy rather than celebratory, please know you are not alone.
Happy International Women’s Day to the women rising, rebuilding, grieving, growing and rediscovering themselves. 💜

“If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

A simple line many of us remember from Bambi, yet it still feels very relevant today.

Earlier I saw a post in a help group from someone who was clearly asking for support. They had already said they felt “silly” for reaching out. Sadly, before I could respond properly, the post disappeared. I can only assume this may have been after an unkind comment was left.

It’s a reminder that when someone gathers the courage to ask for help, even a few careless words can make them retreat again.

If by chance the original poster happens to see this, please know this. You were not “silly”. Reaching out when you are hurting takes courage. And although your post may have disappeared, there are still many people here who genuinely care and would want to support you.
A little kindness can make more difference than we realise. 💛
