A huge thank you to everyone who joined us today for the IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea bike course recce ride. 🚴‍♂️

Days like today remind me why I started Recovery Lab in the first place.

It wasn’t just about training plans, power numbers or race results. It was about bringing good people together through a shared passion for endurance sport, adventure and personal growth.

We had 12 athletes out on the course today, riding every climb, every descent and every section of the route together. It was fantastic to see everyone taking the time to learn the course, build confidence and prepare properly for race day.

What made today even more special was seeing so many other athletes out there doing exactly the same thing. Throughout the day we bumped into old friends, met new ones and shared plenty of conversations, encouragement and laughs along the way. That’s one of the things I love most about triathlon. No matter where you are on your journey, there’s always a sense of community.

Standing back and looking at what Recovery Lab is becoming fills me with a huge amount of gratitude. Not because of numbers, but because of the people. The right people. Supportive people. People who genuinely want to see each other succeed.

To everyone who rode today, thank you for your time, your energy and your company. You all did brilliantly and every mile you rode today will pay dividends come race day.

If you’ve got any questions about the Swansea course, pacing, nutrition, equipment, race strategy or anything else, please don’t hesitate to ask. That’s exactly what we’re here for.

Now it’s time to recover, put the feet up and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

See you all on the start line soon 🏊🏽🚴🏽🏃🏽🏁

🎥 NEW VIDEO LIVE: IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton Bike Course Preview 🚴‍♂️

This weekend I travelled up to Bolton with one of my clients and a member of the Recovery Lab TV community to ride and film the full IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton bike course.

Having raced IRONMAN UK multiple times — including the brutal 2023 edition where huge numbers of athletes DNF’d in horrific weather conditions — I know this area and these roads really well.

In this video I break down:
✅ The key climbs
✅ Fast sections & technical areas
✅ Pacing advice
✅ Fueling considerations
✅ Common mistakes athletes make
✅ What to expect on race day

The goal of this video is simple:
To help you arrive on race day feeling calmer, more prepared and more confident.

Bolton is a proper course. Respect it, prepare for it and it can be an incredible experience 👊

If you’re racing this year, drop a comment below with your goals for the event 🚴‍♂️🔥

The video is now live 🎥🤝

A few days ago I spent the day supporting Fergus Crawley during his DECA triathlon challenge — 10 Ironmans, in 10 days, across 10 cities — all to raise awareness for mental health and fund potentially life-saving support through Calm.

I joined him for the 3.8km swim at Cardiff International Pool before cycling 110km alongside him and the wider group at Llandow Circuit.

But honestly… what stayed with me most wasn’t the distances.

It was the conversations.
The people.
The atmosphere.
And the reminder of how many people are quietly carrying something heavy whilst still showing up every single day.

After losing my friend Zac recently, this one hit differently.

It reminded me why community matters. Why kindness matters. Why simply showing up for somebody can matter more than we realise.

Over the years I’ve seen endurance sport become therapy for so many people. Not because it magically fixes everything, but because it gives people purpose, structure, connection and belief when they need it most.

This video is about far more than swim, bike and run.

It’s about resilience.
It’s about people.
It’s about choosing to keep going.

If you watch it, thank you. And if it resonates with you, share it with somebody who might need it 🤝
