🏃‍♂️💥 Move over Mo Farah… Luke’s in town! 💥🏃‍♂️

A massive shoutout to Luke, Carol’s grandson, who took on the Plymouth Half Marathon and smashed it in an incredible 2 hours and 17 minutes! 👏

Not even a dodgy knee could stop him, although we’re sure he had a few words to say afterwards! 😂 But true to form, Luke dug deep, kept going, and crossed that finish line like a champion.

Meanwhile, Carol was on the sidelines doing what grandmas do best… shouting louder than everyone else and proudly waving her Michaelstowe residents’ banner for all to see! 📣❤️ (We suspect Luke could hear her from the other side of Plymouth!)

And because being a marathon hero wasn’t enough, Luke has kindly dedicated his sponsorship to Michaelstowe, helping us buy raised flower beds and garden goodies, something very close to Carol’s heart. 🌷🌼

Luke, you may need ice packs, a lie down, and possibly a week off stairs… but from all of us at Michaelstowe, we think you’re absolutely brilliant! ⭐

On Tuesday, we came together to make Time for a Cuppa ☕💙 in support of Dementia UK. With a delicious bake sale, uplifting live music, and a special visit from two local Admiral Nurses, it was a day full of warmth, community spirit, and meaningful conversations. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it so special!

Last week at Michaelstowe, we got creative with Rachael from Good Life Making! 🦉✨ Residents enjoyed a hands-on pottery workshop, crafting their very own ceramic owl ornaments from clay—such a wonderful mix of creativity, laughter, and new skills. We can’t wait to do it again!

The grandson of one of our residents is running the Plymouth Half Marathon, raising funds for Michaelstowe - We will use this money to put in some raised flower beds to further entice the wildlife and to be a feature in the garden area for all residents to enjoy.
