Last week one of our lovely ladies enjoyed a trip out around Pontefract, treating herself to a little bit of shopping and taking in the sights. 🛍️☀️

The day became even more special when she unexpectedly bumped into an old friend, leading to lots of smiles, memories, and a wonderful catch-up. 💕 It’s amazing how a simple day out can create such meaningful moments.

We love supporting the people we work with to stay connected with their community, enjoy new experiences, and make the most of every day. 😊

Today our residents enjoyed a lovely morning out together with lunch at The Cobblers 🍽️❤️

There was plenty of delicious food enjoyed by everyone including fish & chips, mussels, battered prawns, burgers and a carvery lunch. Residents also enjoyed drinks of their choice including wine, lager, cider, soft drinks — and one resident even treated themselves to a double whisky! 🥃😊

It was wonderful to see so many smiles, laughter and conversations shared throughout the outing. Everyone had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed getting out into the local community together. The staff at the cobblers couldn’t be any more accommodating for us.❤️ Cobbler Pontefract

This week our residents had the pleasure of meeting our new pet therapy dog, Pip, who is currently in training 🐾

After the very sad loss of Luca, who had been visiting our home for an amazing 10 years, it was so lovely to see so many smiles as residents spent time getting to know Pip. ❤️

There were lots of cuddles, fuss, and happy memories shared, and Pip certainly made a wonderful first impression. We are all looking forward to watching his journey and creating many special moments together 🐶✨

Today our lovely residents have had a wonderful afternoon baking and decorating cookies ready to go out on our tea trolley tonight 🍪☕

There were lots of smiles, laughter and creativity throughout the activity, with everyone getting involved in mixing, decorating and making each cookie special. The residents gained so much enjoyment from the session and felt a real sense of achievement seeing the finished results.

We couldn’t be more proud of what they accomplished today — a fantastic effort by everyone involved ❤️

Today one of our lovely ladies enjoyed a trip out into the local community where she used to live. She loved waving and smiling at passers by as this was something she did daily before residing at millfields. She also enjoyed reminiscing about familiar places and memories.

She was amazed by the transformation of the old Nevison Leap pub, which is now a lovely café and shop. We stopped by for a visit where she enjoyed 2 rounds of toast and jam, 2 cups of tea, and cake with cream. Ajays Cafe & Deli

She spent time chatting with the staff who couldn’t do enough for us and made us very welcome. She said how much she had enjoyed her morning out in the community. It was wonderful to see so many smiles and happy memories being made today 💕.

One of our lovely ladies has had a wonderful time this week enjoying a trip out to Pontefract to treat herself to some new items. 🛍️☕

She loved having a browse around the shops, choosing her own new clothing and accessories, before stopping for a delicious cake and coffee while out. It’s safe to say she was very pleased with all the lovely things she picked out and had a fantastic day enjoying some independence and community time. 💕

Days like these are so important for confidence, choice and making happy memories. 😊

Our residents have had a lovely time this week celebrating VE Day 🇬🇧❤️

We’ve enjoyed music, decorations, memories, laughter and coming together to remember such a special moment in history. It has been wonderful hearing everyone’s stories and seeing so many smiles throughout the celebrations.

Today at Millfields we kicked off our VE Day celebrations in style 🇬🇧❤️

Our amazing staff came dressed in fantastic 1940s outfits, bringing the spirit of the era to life for our residents, From wartime nurses to land girls and vintage fashion, the home is already full of smiles, music and memories as we celebrate together.

We’re looking forward to a lovely day of fun, laughter and remembrance as we honour those who fought for our freedom ❤️
