Saturday Thoughts 💭
When did conversations about movement become a competition?
Why do we feel the need to prove how much we train?
And why should someone who doesn’t exercise feel like they are somehow less than because of it?
Some women lift weights.
Some run.
Some do Pilates.
Some walk their dog.
Some dance.
Some swim.
Some are recovering from an injury.
Some simply don’t enjoy exercise.
And some have completely different priorities in their lives.
All of that is okay.
Exercise can be an incredible thing. It can make us stronger, healthier and happier. Some people just simply don’t enjoy it —and it should never become a way of judging another woman.
You don’t get extra points for doing more.
You don’t become a better person because you train harder.
And you certainly shouldn’t make anyone feel uncomfortable because her lifestyle looks different to yours.
Let’s stop competing over who is the busiest, strongest, leanest, most disciplined or most active.
Because women should feel empowered in a room full of other women — not like they have to prove they belong there.
Move because you love your body.
Move because it makes you feel good.
Move because you enjoy it.
But never make another woman feel bad because she moves differently. ❤️
