Little Bird Talking Therapy

Little Bird Talking Therapy A confidential counselling and clinical supervision service based in the town of Pontypridd.

We offer counselling for individuals and couples in person or remotely via telephone or teams and provide clinical supervision for healthcare professionals. Attending counselling for the first time can be a daunting prospect, you may fear that you may be seen as weak or unable to cope or may just not know what to expect. Here at Little Bird Talking Therapy we hope to allay these fears and provide

you with a safe environment where you will be valued and accepted without fear of being judged. Working together with a trained Counsellor allows you to look at your life in ways you may not have considered before and to gain insight and understanding as to how you think and feel. Counselling provides you with the space to reflect on your situation with someone who is not personally involved and who does not judge or criticise. It gives you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings and in doing so find solutions that you are comfortable with.

As therapists, we spend our careers holding space for others — guiding, supporting, and safeguarding our clients’ wellbeing. But an important question we often avoid is: what happens to our clients if something happens to us?

This is where a clinical will becomes essential.
A therapist’s clinical will ensures that, in the event of sudden illness, incapacity, or death, our clients are not left without support or direction. It provides clear instructions for another trusted professional to step in, manage communications, handle records ethically, and ensure continuity of care where possible.

Having a clinical will is not just an administrative task — it’s an ethical responsibility. It reflects our commitment to do no harm, even in our absence.

Creating one can feel uncomfortable, but it’s ultimately an act of care: • Care for our clients
• Care for our colleagues who may step in
• Care for the integrity of our profession

If you’re a practicing therapist and haven’t yet put a clinical will in place, consider this your reminder. Start the conversation. Make a plan. Protect the people who trust you with their stories.

Because good care doesn’t stop when we’re no longer able to provide it.
