I was talking to a client over the weekend about supplements & perimenopause, and I mentioned my GP recommended Calcium for hormones, but I couldn't remember why. ๐
Calcium can help reduce emotional and physical
symptoms by supporting hormonal balance.
How Calcium Helps:
๐ Neurotransmitter support: Calcium helps regulate
neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which
control mood, irritability, and depression.
๐ Hormonal interaction: Ovarian hormone shifts during the menstrual cycle affect how your body absorbs and processes calcium.
๐ Physical relief: Adequate calcium helps relax muscles and stabilize nerve function, which can lessen cramps, fatigue, and water retention.
Calcium needs to be taken with D3 for absorption, and best taken with food, without any other minerals.
As a clinical therapist, I'm registered with Lamberts for 'professional grade' supplements, and get a good discount off RRP.
If anyone would like the full list of what I take to help with PMT/PMDD, let me know.
Or, if you'd like to know the price of anything, I don't take a cut and pass the discount on.
(It's always best to consult a medical professional before taking supplements.)
