Who’s behind Madmule? Unless I demonstrate consistency. Unless….

Group Fitness with our unique 'ENGINE ROOM' programme .Build long-term strength — in body and mind.
I’m Richard, a personal trainer since 2000 and Madmule was created in 2015 as an extension to the Fitness services already provided. Most recent PT sessions are focused on run training, body transformation, health drives, and sports specific conditioning. Personal Training session

s are taken at a private studio in Poole or at your home or local green space. Over the last 20 years I’ve trained a diverse group of people, travelled extensively with professional tennis players and prior to my coaching career I served as a Royal Marine Commando, passing the course at the age of 17. Most of my own training time is focused on ultra running, my highlight thus far, the completion of the 107 mile Ultra Trail Mont Blanc. In past years I have competed at the World Duathlon Championships for the GB age group team , completed lots of ultra distance races and cross training has always remained a constant since a young age. Madmule has created and delivered a multitude of group trail running adventures. The goal is to motivate people to run in a green space, off road and where possible, off track. The flagship session is ‘Pay the ferryman’ and a common thread throughout the year has been the Madmule Full Moon night runs. Along with H.I.L.L and trail running workshops, Madmule is developing a reputation for organising friendly, fun, adventurous and challenging trail running sessions. If you’re looking to get a set of eyes on your training to tighten up form, get a booster of knowledge or write a personal schedule to achieve your goals then contact me direct here, on Facebook , WhatsApp or via the website link. Face to face coaching that maximises competence and confidence in your training sessions. Look out for future Madmule training sessions, most of which are currently free. Madmule is ‘No Adventure Unless’
Unless I move better. Unless I get out there and do it. What’s your Unless? I can help you achieve it.

The first is always the hardest...
Shelley Anderson! Endurancelife Classic Quarter in Cornwall this weekend.
In. Da. Bag - congratulations. I think everyone knows the conditions turned a bit on the south west coast path this weekend and Shelley cracked on. Find her on the weekly mileage list - she's at the top - and give a great big thumbs up. I know what she has commited to get this box ticked. Immense resilience.

Anyone else crack a new marker for themselves this week?

We have spotted Sara Genco doing some molehills out in Chamonix. Anyone else with FOMO?

Poole park was packed with the Festival of Running 5k relays. Thanks to Lytchett for asking me along and establishing that in fact my heart rate can still rise to 191. WTAF! Great to see some familiar faces and connect with old ones.
The speedwork hasn't been on my radar for several years, so it proves that strength and conditioning, lots of vertical and plenty of sleep does sustain a decent engine.

If you follow Madmule on Instagram/ Facebook you will see that I am launching a new studio where the group training has been taking place. The Engine Room Poole will be open for 1-1, group and specialised endurance training from Monday 15th June (fingers crossed). It's live on socials if you fancy giving it a follow and get the updates as we progress.

A date for a Dawn Raid to Brecon announcing this week... 04:00 getaway ... ;-)

This weekend it was my training schedule to place an overnight long haul. The drive to took nearly 4 hours.I started at 9:30pm from the and took the first ascent to gently. The goal was endurance, vertical gain and to practice a sleep stop in the middle of the night. After 4 hours of 3 main climbs I took a 45 min nap in the back of the car. Setting the alarm and determined to implement the process that will have to happen countless times 330. Get going when all the primal senses are saying “NO, this is cosy, you are safe, sleep is imperative “ . Headed out for a very pleasant 2nd stint and finished witnessing the landscape seen in these pics. Probably around 40 folk has made it up to claim their place on Penyfan and from Corn Du , on my Tod, it was an impressive backdrop. Back to the car after 39km total with 3050m climbing. June : RAMP IT UP

You do not need a hill to improve pole timing and skill . Most people are using them in the 2nd half of a 50-100 mile race. The race does not have to be ‘hilly’ or mountainous to warrant using poles. Once mastered they can bring down a marching mile by minutes, with the right training. Time spent is the key. Finish your regular ‘from the door’ training run, grab your poles by the door and have a march around the block for 10 minutes . Who cares what people think if it means conversion to a smoother power walk at the back end of a monster distance! 5 places left on the next workshop. DM or follow the link in the bio to book.

Complete opposite ends of environment, same bandwidth of fun. Saturday afternoon in the shade of the trees made for a steady hill session. Slightly more vertical this morning but an early start to transition from warm to very hot in an open landscape. Mupe bay is a majestic pearl that very few visitor to lulworth take the time and energy to trek around.

I don’t coach to showcase my own achievements. I coach to ensure you value yourself enough to arrive at your challenge fully prepared.
Because of what my personal experiences and the Marines have taught me, I don’t believe in generic, rushed templates. I believe in patient leadership and structural durability. To deliver that, I have distilled a quarter-century of data and lived experience into two definitive coaching pathways: The Foundation Track and The Finisher Track. If this interests you comment “Track” or “Finisher” to receive further instruction. Best. Rich
