🎉🛝 We're delighted to officially unveil the brand-new, fully accessible children's play area at Broadoaks Child Development Centre - a fantastic new space that will support children and families using our services!
The before and after photos say it all. What was once a tired courtyard has been transformed into a colourful, inclusive play area.
This incredible project simply would not have been possible without the support of the Trevor Hemmings Foundation, whose generous £50,000 grant made the play area a reality. Their commitment to supporting children and young people has helped create a welcoming, inclusive environment where play, learning and clinical assessment can all take place together 💫
Designed to support both fun and development, the play area features colourful safety surfacing, climbing equipment, musical sensory features and interactive play elements, helping children feel more relaxed while supporting our teams to carry out physical and neurodevelopmental assessments.
Victoria Atkinson, Matron for Children's Community and Specialist Nursing at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: "The opening of this play area is a really proud moment for everyone involved in Broadoaks. We know how important play is to a child's development and wellbeing, and this space has been thoughtfully designed to help children feel comfortable, supported and able to express themselves."
We're also incredibly grateful to Playdale Playgrounds, who worked with us to help bring the vision to life, D&G Builders and Joiners, whose support and approach to the project was invaluable, and DCM Surfaces, who provided the specialist safety flooring. Their expertise, generosity and collaboration helped turn this vision into reality.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported this project. Together, you've helped create a brighter, more inclusive environment that will have a lasting impact on the children and families who use Broadoaks every day 🥰
