🚶‍♂️ Boost Your Wellbeing: Just Stay Active! 🚶‍♂️

Regular physical activity is one of the single best things you can do for your body and mind. It helps improve your cardiovascular fitness, strengthens your muscles, and releases endorphins that drastically boost your mental wellbeing and reduce anxiety.

You don't need an expensive gym membership or hours of intense training to reap the rewards. Even a short, brisk daily walk around your neighborhood or a local park can make a massive difference to your health over time.

Try setting a time today for a 15-minute walk. Your body and mind will thank you for it!

🍏 Diabetes Week: Understanding and Reducing Your Risk 🍏

This week is Diabetes Week, and we want to focus on prevention. Did you know that making small, sustainable lifestyle modifications can significantly reduce your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes?

Taking control of your health doesn't mean you have to change everything overnight. Focusing on a few core areas plays a massive part in protecting your long-term health:

- Eating a balanced diet: Focus on whole foods, fibre, and reducing hidden sugars.
- Staying active: Aim for 30 minutes of moderate activity most days.
- Maintaining a healthy weight: Dropping even a small amount of excess weight can drastically cut your risk factors.

If you are worried about your risk or have a family history of diabetes, speak to our nursing team about a routine blood sugar check.

🧔 Men's Health Week: Let's Break the Silence 🧔

It is Men's Health Week, an important time to talk about a vital statistic: men are statistically much less likely to seek professional medical help or visit their GP for health concerns than women.

Ignoring a symptom—whether it's a physical change, an unusual ache, or feelings of stress and low mood—won't make it go away. This week is a vital reminder that seeking early advice can make a massive difference to the outcome and ease of treatment.

If something in your body or mind doesn't feel quite right, please don't push it to one side or ignore it. Our clinical team is here to support you in a confidential, non-judgmental environment.

High blood pressure is often referred to by medical professionals as a "silent" condition because it frequently has absolutely no symptoms at all. You could feel completely fine, yet your cardiovascular system could be under unnecessary strain. This is exactly why checking it regularly is so incredibly important.

Don't wait for a routine check-up months down the line. Our self-service pod in the practice reception makes monitoring your blood pressure exceptionally quick, easy, and completely stress-free.

There is no appointment needed! Just ask the reception desk for a token next time you pop in, take a few minutes to use the machine, and hand your slip to our team.

⚠️ PATIENT NOTICE: Medicine Recall for Ramipril 2.5mg ⚠️

The MHRA has issued a precautionary recall for one specific batch of Ramipril 2.5mg capsules made by Crescent Pharma Limited.

The Issue: A small number of 2.5mg boxes were accidentally packed with stronger Ramipril 10mg blister strips.

What you need to do:

- Check your box: Is it Crescent Pharma Ramipril 2.5mg?

- Check the batch: Look for Batch Number: GR155023 (Expiry 08/2027). If your batch number is different, your medicine is fine.

Check the foil strips inside:

- If they say 2.5mg, you can safely take them.

- If they say 10mg, stop taking them immediately.

If you have an affected pack (10mg strips in a 2.5mg box):

❌ Do not take the medicine.

🔄 Return the pack to your pharmacy for a safe replacement.

📞 Contact your GP surgery if you need a new prescription arranged.

Symptoms to watch for:
If you think you have accidentally taken the higher 10mg dose, watch out for dizziness, lightheadedness, or fatigue (signs of low blood pressure). Seek medical advice from your GP or call 111 if you feel unwell.

Please share this to help look after family and neighbours.
