Geraldine from Lyme Disease Action told me that there is a new version of the O'Tom Tick Twister.

I was never a fan of them as I found it really hard to remove small ticks with them but was advised that this new version works great with small ticks as well.

If you want to give them a try you can purchase them on the LDA website here: https://www.lymediseaseaction.org.uk/what-we-are-doing/shop/

Hi folks

After testing many different tick removers over many years this one from Lifesystems is the one I found works the best.

I especially like the small version you can attach to your keys, backpack, camerabag or simply to a zipper on a jacket for quick and easy access for removing ticks without delay.

You can purchase these through the charity Lyme Disease Action website where you also find other useful information about ticks and Lyme Disease.

"Autistic people are too often disbelieved, judged or blamed because of misconceptions about autism".

In this blog, autistic Policy and Public Affairs Manager Joey Nettleton Burrows explores the impact of harmful media narratives, stigma and discrimination, and why listening to autistic people and families is essential to creating meaningful change.

Joey Nettleton Burrows is our Policy and Public Affairs Manager and is autistic. In this blog, he discusses why politicians, the media and the public desperately need to start believing autistic people.

Well-being sessions for children and young people in Lancashire Schools:

12 to 18th October is Mental Health Awareness Week and my friend Jane Early Years Sparkle who is an amazing Yoga Therapist has a few slots available for visiting local
schools (Jane is based in Lancashire) and work with children and young people, exploring ways to look after emotional wellbeing and focus on this year's topic of "Belonging Matters".

Check out her post below and contact her for more details if you think your school might be interested.

What is your school doing to support pupils' mental health?

The 9th of October is World Mental Health Day and I have a few slots available that week for visiting local schools and offering yoga and relaxation sessions for children and young people. This is the day when many pupils dress in yellow for Young Mind's "Hello Yellow" campaign.

During these sessions pupils will explore different movement, breathing and relaxation techniques and experience regulation of the breath, emotions and nervous system. We will also talk about ways we can look after our emotional wellbeing.

These sessions are designed specifically for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and so are fully accessible and can benefit everyone.

If you'd like your school to get involved please ask them to get into touch or tag someone below who might be interested. Also please like and comment to help this get seen by more local people. Thank you, Jane ☺️
