Laser Therapy 📍
An invaluable tool in my kit, and one you’ll most commonly see me use.
Laser therapy is monochromatic, coherent light and comes in two light forms, red and infrared.
Here I am using laser for photo-inhibition purposes.
Photo-inhibition - acting directly on the nervous system, by suppressing the pain signals. Laser slows down the conduction of action potentials by targeting A-alpha and C Fibers, reducing the transmission pain signals to the brain. Laser can also provide an opioid response by inhibiting pain transmitters, such as substance P, leading to a pain reduction.
Uses of laser:
• Treating trigger points
• Treating nerve pain
• Reducing pain of osteoarthritis
