Spent the day at the Scottish Podiatry Conference in Stirling today, although with the weather outside, being stuck in lecture halls all day felt slightly cruel. ☀️

Some really interesting talks covering anorexia and its impact on the foot, paediatric foot conditions, and dermatology below the “Wallace line” of the foot. Plenty of useful clinical insight to bring back into practice.

The trade stalls definitely knew what they were doing… 👀

We’ve restocked some of your favourite products and added a few new bits of equipment to the clinic, including a new Doppler and cryo-gun.

Looking forward to meeting even more podiatrists when the conference heads to Aberdeen next year.

I’ll be adjusting my hours at the Prestwick clinic as I take on managing the Irvine clinic.

If you usually see me in Prestwick, I’d recommend booking them up in advance to avoid disappointment.

Currently over in Northern Ireland, at the picture-perfect Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel & Lodges while attending the Royal College of Podiatry Northern Ireland Annual Conference.

It’s been a great day so far, with a wide range of talks—from forensic podiatry to running gait analysis. Once again, AI in the workplace has come up as a key topic. While some remain cautious, I think it’s something we should be embracing and continuing to develop within the medical profession.

Interestingly, this post was started using speech-to-text AI—just another example of how integrated the technology already is in everyday practice. That said, I think we’re still a long way from anything like the The Terminator…
