Joe Mugan Helping people reach their next summit. Sharing my journey into mountaineering while exploring mindset, nutrition and endurance. My name is Joe.

Building stronger minds, healthier bodies and the confidence to take on life’s biggest challenges. I am a vegan, Buddhist father of two. Meditation helped me find who I am beyond these things. It helped me find the inner me, my inner awareness. I have been meditating for many years now. In 2022 I decided to become trained in delivering guided meditation as I felt it was my purpose. It allows me to

live my most impactful life. I hope you can find this for you, if I can help you on that journey, it would be a pleasure. Thanks for taking the time to read over my page.

Still a few weeks until I can get back out on the mountains. So mountain day is a lengthy incline treadmill.

5% > 8% > 10% > 12% > 3%

A good session on continuous walking and climbing.

Today marks a big step in my journey to endurance and high altitude mountaineering. Life is full of ups and downs. A solid foundation mentally and physically will always help you bounce back and achieve that next summit.

General strength day. Working towards those mountains. 🏔️

Good progression. A few more weeks to build the base up though.

Light breakfast for some energy but not too much. Main protein came after the workout.

Sunday is the true rest day at the moment in my plan. But that means physical rest. Today is about the mental preparation instead. Here is a dream big list for the next 18 months. A mixture of hills, mountains and endurance. I wonder what will get ticked off 🤔

Not everyday can be on the mountains. But these are the days that make the mountain ones more predictable.

Let’s see how this breakfast goes for today’s mountain treadmill training.

Yoghurt, chia, granola, blueberries, banana, peanut butter and honey.

A Vietnamese black coffee too. Breakfast eaten well before Vietnamese coffee was ready. If you know, you know.

700-800 calories, nice balance of macros. Only thought needed for me personally is the glycemic load for the diabetes. Let’s see!

Every journey has a starting point.

Over the last few years I’ve spent a lot of time learning about mindset and personal growth. More recently, that journey has expanded into nutrition, endurance and the mountains.

This photo was taken at almost 13,000 ft in China. It isn’t the highest place I will go, or the hardest challenge I’ll face, but it reminded me why I’m doing this.

Over the coming years I’ll be documenting the journey—from training and qualifications to expeditions, lessons learned and everything in between.

If you’re interested in mountains, adventure, nutrition, resilience or simply becoming a stronger version of yourself, I’d love to have you along for the climb.

Here’s to the next summit. 🏔️

Every journey starts somewhere.

Nearly 13,000 ft.

Not a summit. Not a finish line.

Just another step towards the life I’m building.

Over the next few years I’ll be sharing the journey into mountaineering, nutrition, endurance and the mindset it takes to reach your next summit.

Glad you’re here. 🏔️

I’ve noticed something interesting in my coaching work recently.

The most capable women I work with don’t struggle because they lack confidence.

They struggle because they’ve become the emotional anchor in every system they’re part of.

They can handle a lot.

So they do.

Until resentment builds quietly.

Until they don’t quite feel like themselves anymore.

In my podcast this week, I’ll be talking more about why boundaries feel harder than they should, and what’s actually happening in the nervous system when you try to say no.

If this sounds familiar, stay tuned for the release.

There’s a particular moment in life where things start to feel tight.

You know something needs to change.
You’ve thought it through.
You’ve journaled about it.

But you’re not moving.

That’s not because you don’t know what to do.
It’s because your nervous system hasn’t caught up with your awareness.

This is the work I do.

Deep, immersive sessions focused on identity-level change.

If that resonates, you can apply for a clarity call here.
