It’s Men’s Health Week! 👨🏻💙 encouraging early detection, promoting preventative care, and breaking the stigma around men asking for help. The theme this year is “One Step at a Time: Progress, not perfection”. You don’t need to overhaul your entire life overnight. Whether it’s starting a new fitness routine, booking a health screening, improving nutrition, or simply taking time to rest, every positive step matters. 🚶‍♂️🥦

💙 Diabetes Awareness Week 💙
Every number tells a story. Every diagnosis changes a life.
This Diabetes Awareness Week, let's shine a light on the importance of prevention, early detection, and ongoing support for the millions of people living with diabetes.
Small daily choices—staying active, eating well, monitoring your health, and attending regular check-ups—can have a lasting impact.
Together, we can raise awareness, break down stigma, and empower healthier communities.
Know the signs. Know your risk. Know your health.

This Dementia Action Week, let’s come together to raise awareness, show compassion, and take action. 💙
Dementia affects millions of people and their families—but understanding, patience, and small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Whether it’s learning more, supporting a loved one, or simply starting a conversation, every action counts.

🔺 MENINGITIS B INFORMATION 🔺

The MenB vaccine is currently only offered as part of the NHS vaccination schedule for babies. At present, there is no NHS guidance to offer this vaccine outside of the routine infant programme.

If you would still like the MenB vaccine, this will need to be arranged through a private provider.

The MenACWY vaccine protects against four types of meningococcal bacteria (groups A, C, W and Y). In the UK, it is routinely offered to teenagers aged 13–14 and is free on the NHS for anyone up to the age of 25 who missed their vaccine.

You can contact the surgery, check your NHS App, or your/your child’s Red Book to see if the MenACWY vaccine has been given. If not, we can arrange this for you.

❗Please seek urgent medical help by attending A&E or calling 999 if you develop symptoms of meningitis.

Symptoms can include:
🔹 High temperature
🔹 Vomiting or headache
🔹 Drowsiness or being unresponsive
🔹 A rash that does not fade when a glass is rolled over it.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the local family at this time, and with all families and friends affected by this.
