Following on from yesterdayβs post, hereβs where we may start to identify which of our happy hormone needs a little more attention π
Hereβs a few ideas on how you can boost each oneβ¦
Dopamine:
ππ» Setting and achieving goals, no matter how small.
ππ» Listening to music you love.
ππ» Practicing acts of self-care and self-compassion.
ππ» Engaging in activities you enjoy, such as hobbies or sports.
Serotonin:
ππ» Exposure to sunlight.
ππ» Regular exercise.
ππ» Engaging in activities that promote a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.
ππ» Maintaining a balanced diet with sufficient tryptophan, found in foods like turkey, nuts, and seeds.
Endorphins:
ππ» Laughter and humor.
ππ» Eating spicy foods.
ππ» Meditation and mindfulness practices.
ππ» Physical exercise, especially aerobic activities like running, swimming, or cycling.
Oxytocin:
ππ» Hugging loved ones.
ππ» Spending quality time with friends and family.
ππ» Petting or playing with animals.
ππ» Participating in group activities or volunteering.
ππ» Engaging in intimate physical contact, like cuddling or kissing.
