Born to Birth Cornwall Antenatal, birth and postnatal support for all birthing people and their families.

I've seen water transform labours in so many ways.

A labouring women go from crazed to calm in seconds, soothed by the weightlessness of water.

An exhausted, overwhelmed birthing human find her zen as warmth gave her permission to really rest.

A woman lost in the intensity of her contractions, come back into her own skin as water gave her shape and reference.

Birth pools are what most people associate with the benefits of water, but these transformations can be found in other ways too.

Knowing how to use water to benefit you when birth centers and birth pools are not available to you - for whatever reason - can be game changers.

And that's where the lived experience of a doula comes into play.

Antenatal course with me aren't about running you through the standard options; they're about giving you the really useful and relevant tools you need to change your birth for the better.

Curious? DM me and we'll start the conversation.

Giving birth can feel overwhelming; having a birth partner who can put the priorities before the chaos can re-balance everything.

As a doula, stabilising the chaos is what I do best.
Creating the questions that focus the mind and support strong decisions is a key part of what I do in a birth space.

And yes, doing this well takes experiences and insight.
Plus a level of calm which comes from being in birth spaces a lot.

But that doesn't mean this is just the realm of a doula.
Any birth partner has the power to refocus the mind of someone in labour, so long as they know them well and have done the birth prep work alongside them.

Which is why birth partners are a central part to all of my antenatal classes. They really can make or break your birth, and that role requires preparation too.

Birth is not a spectator sport: prepare fully for labour by approaching it together, as a team, so that when the big day comes everything works well.

Comment 'antenatal' or DM me and I'll send you information about my antenatal classes and courses.

🌟PREPARING FOR YOUR POSITIVE BIRTH 🌟

Trust me: positive births start with strong preparation.
But you need to know where to start.

So many people want to feel:
- calmer
- more confident
- more prepared for birth
.. but knowing what to do to get there is a real maze.
A mass of information which can be confusing and overwhelming.

UNLESS you know your way around it, of course.
Which is why I run this session.

In our 45 minutes together, I'll guide you through five of the simplest but most powerful ways to prepare for the positive birth experience you deserve.

Covering your body, your brain, your birth partner (and a few other cheeky additions), I've chosen the five approaches that I've seen - time and time again - create strong, individual and positive birth experiences.

Believe me, it's not rocket science.
Its not even complicated.
But it can be transformational.

Sound good? Then, what are you waiting for.

The recipe for a blissful birth and postpartum is a simple one.

Doulas know it.
Your ancestors knew it.
But over time, that recipe has been lost.
It's time to reclaimed it.

The recipe is this:
- your instincts
- your emotions
- your hopes
- your fears

Listened to, respected, and supported.

The ingredients are simple.
But the processes needed to put them together and make sense of it all, not so much.

That's where I come in.
As a mainstream doula with a passion for making sense of maternity care for the masses, this is what I'm here to do.

Help you find your way to a blissful birth and postpartum,
without any hippy crap or woo woo.

Fancy it? Follow along. ♥️

Since 2023, 'The Nest' has been making maternity leave better for Cornwall's new parents.

Around our mat, while babies play and feed and sleep:
Belly laugh have been shared
Heartfelt tears have been shed
Meaningful friendships have been forged.
That’s why we don’t do puppets, or bubbles, or songs.

By simply sitting with the right vibes, a good coffee and a proper nice flapjack, we make space for the chatter that matters.

Want to join us?
‘The Nest’ welcomes the parents of babies from birth to just-about-crawling at Thursday sessions at The Family Space (1pm). Spaces are limited, so booking is essential.

As a doula, positive birth experiences are my life.
I NEED you to know this.

Birth plans really help.
But only if you use them wisely.

Want a waterbirth because those Insta videos look great?
Like the sound of an epidural because your friend had it?
Scheduling a caesarean so your MIL can do childcare?

These are all reasons to choose certain pathways through labour... BUT they are unlikely to give you that dreamy experience on their own.

Positive births done come when you focus your decisions on an outcome alone.

You have to think about the journey that gets you there, about how you'll think and feel during that time, and what that choice means for other things that can happen.

That's what I help people to do.
As their antenatal provider.
As their doula.

Time after time after time.
Which is why I'm sharing this: I know it works.

35 weeks pregnant: crib set up, onesies clean, Hypnobirthing playlist sorted. I was ready.

How could I not be?!
I'd ticked off everything on the checklist.

In hindsight, I was wrong.

What I now know is that the things that made a genuinely positive difference weren't on those standard baby-prep lists.

While I'd bought the 'things' Amazon & Baby center told me I'd need, I hadn't thought about my actual needs.

- my recovery
- my support network
- my mindset
- my pelvic floor
- my mum community

And because I hadn't considered them, when these needs thundered in like a lorry, I had no idea where to go to meet them.

I was unprepared.
A bit lost.
Totally confused.

Now I'm a doula and I refuse to believe that thisnis okay. No new mother should feel this way.

Which is why I created the Bump to Baby Booster: 11 people or organisations that can help you actually BE READY for the challenges that pop up on every birth and baby journey.

Panicking about induction, forceps or emergency caesarean won't help; what will is focusing on the things that make you feel calm.

As a doula, this is how I spend my life.
I can't control your birth.
I can't predict how this will go.
I can't promise everything will be okay.

BUT what I can do (and do very well) is help you to find the calmest, most controlled and confident pathway through your pregnancy and birth.

Yes, even if it happens in hospital.
Yes, even if it doesn't go to plan.

Because that's how positive births work: it's not a certain type, shape or form, but a feeling. And that doesn't come out of thin air.

It's why I create birth planning guides that focus on emotions.
It's why I do Power Hours that help people find their confidence.
It's why I teach 1:1 antenatal classes.
It's why I am a birth doula.

Want to know more? Book your free discovery call and we'll start a conversation about getting you the calm, controlled and confident birth you deserve.
