🎉 Tuesday was Bingo Day for the Penzance team and their clients! 🎉

It was full of excitement, laughs, and plenty of lucky numbers. Even clients who couldn’t make it along didn’t miss out as they were able to purchase a bingo book, and our fantastic admin team stepped in to play on their behalf!

Lady Luck was certainly smiling on some of our players. 🌟 Roy and Joan struck gold, winning a fantastic haul of prizes, while Letwin was delighted to scoop up the coveted Carbis Bay treat! 🎁🏖️

A huge congratulations to all our winners and a big thank you to everyone who took part, donated prizes and helped make it such a success. We’re already looking forward to the next game of bingo! 🎊🍀

Coming home from hospital can be a huge relief, but it can also feel a little daunting.

At Alexandras Community Care, we support people to settle safely back at home with help that fits around their needs, from personal care and meals to medication prompts, reassurance visits and support while confidence returns.

Our aim is to make coming home feel safer, calmer and more manageable for both the person and their family. 💙

What a finale! 🏆💙

On Wednesday, our 2026 Alexandras Branch Off came to a brilliant end with a sports day-style final that definitely brought out everyone’s competitive side.

The teams took on an egg and spoon race with a dress-up twist, welly wanging, bean bag throw and chugging, technical reversing, and of course, a tug of war.

There was plenty of laughter, some questionable tactics, and a lot of team spirit throughout the afternoon.

A huge well done to everyone who took part across all of the challenges this year, and congratulations to Penryn/Falmouth, our overall 2026 Branch Off winners! 🎉

The final Alexandras Branch Off challenge before the big finale day was our Lip Sync Battle / Dance Off! 💃🎤

For this challenge, our branches were asked to create a fun musical or dance performance. It could be a lip sync, a dance routine, a dramatic music video moment, or anything in between.

Ageing should never be something we apologise for.

Age Without Apology Month is a reminder that every stage of life has value, beauty and meaning. The years we live shape our stories, our confidence, our wisdom and the way we see the world.

For many older people, ageing can come with changes. Some are welcome, some are difficult, and some take time to adjust to. But growing older should never mean feeling invisible, less important, or less deserving of joy, independence and respect.

At Alexandras Community Care, we see every day that age is not something to hide from. It is something to honour.

This month, we are celebrating ageing with pride, dignity and without apology. 💙

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month ☀️

As we head into warmer, brighter days, it is a good time to gently remind ourselves how important it is to protect and check our skin.

Skin cancer can affect people of all skin tones, and those who spend a lot of time outdoors may be at increased risk without the right precautions. Simple steps can make a real difference, including wearing SPF, seeking shade during the hottest parts of the day, covering up with light clothing and a hat, and avoiding sunburn.

It is also important to keep an eye on any changes to your skin. If you notice a mole, mark, lump or sore that changes, bleeds, crusts, itches, or does not heal, please speak to your GP. It may be nothing serious, but it is always best to get it checked.

A few minutes of care today could help protect your health in the future. 💙
