We are now live with the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)!

We are pleased to let our patients know that we are now using the Electronic Prescription Service – a free, secure, and convenient way to manage your prescriptions.

What is EPS?
EPS sends your prescription directly from the GP to your nominated pharmacy, so there’s no need to collect a paper prescription from the practice.

✅ What do you need to do?

Choose (nominate) a pharmacy where you’d like your prescriptions sent
Let our reception team or your pharmacist know your preference
That’s it – your prescriptions will be sent electronically going forward

✅ Saves you time – no need to visit the practice
✅ Quicker and more efficient
✅ Safe and secure

**Spring Covid Booster Vaccination Programme**

The spring Covid Booster is now available for eligible patients aged over 75 years and those who are immunosuppressed.

Our clinics are running until the end of May therefore please contact the surgery to book your appointment.

Cleaner Vacancy – Wellspring Medical Centre

We are looking to appoint a reliable and conscientious Cleaner to join our team at Wellspring Medical Centre.

Hours: 9 hours per week

Tuesday & Thursday: 5.30pm – 8.30pm
Saturday or Sunday: 3 hours (to suit)

Pay: National Minimum Wage

Duties will include:

Cleaning clinical and non‑clinical areas
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Adhering to infection control and health & safety requirements

Requirements:

Previous cleaning experience preferred but not essential
Ability to work independently and reliably
Trustworthy and attention to detail

Checking your child's vaccination status

To help keep our phone lines available for patients with urgent medical issues, we kindly ask that you contact the Vaccination Service directly on 0300 303 1373 if you need to check your child's vaccination status. They can provide this information quickly and accurately.

⚠️ Meningitis: Please Check Your Child’s Vaccinations 💉

Our Director of Public Health, Professor Tracy Daszkiewicz, is urging parents and carers to make sure children and teenagers are protected against meningitis, following recent tragic cases in Kent 💔

Meningitis can develop very quickly and can be life threatening. Vaccination is the best way to prevent it.

🛡️ Key meningitis protection includes:
• MenB for babies and young children
• Pneumococcal vaccine (can also prevent meningitis)
• MenACWY for Year 9 pupils and young people under 25 starting university

Young children, teenagers and students in shared accommodation are at the highest risk.

👉 Book any missed doses
👉 Learn the symptoms and seek urgent help if concerned

All GP practices in Caerphilly have a half day practice closure for staff training. The practice will close at 12.30pm-6.30pm.

Should you require urgent medical assistance during these times, a call handler will take your details and forward onto the Urgent Primary Care Centre.

Hours: 9 hours per week
Days: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday or Sunday
We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join our friendly team. The role involves maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the practice.

What we’re looking for:

Good attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Trustworthy and punctual
Previous cleaning experience is an advantage but not essential

Working pattern:

3 days per week
9 hours total
Set days: Tuesday & Thursday evenings - 5.30pm - 8.30pm
Plus either Saturday or Sunday hours to suit.
