⭐️ Whether you’re 5 or 75, these simple exercises will help strengthen/maintain your core muscle strength.

⭐️ You don’t need any fancy equipment, but a few simple toys or a ball to throw and catch whilst balancing in half kneeling, can make them more fun.

⭐️ All you need is 5-10 mins and enough floor space to lie down.

🏃🏻‍♀️ This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and this year’s theme is Action. are asking people to join them in taking action to support good mental health.

☀️ This week, why not try and find one positive action that boosts your mental health.

☕️ Is there anything you can do to help support a friend, colleague or member of your family who is having a tough time?

🧘🏼‍♀️Those that know me, know that I am a big advocate for mindfulness, yoga, journalling, and being active. In fact, my work day doesn’t start until I have done all these things!

🌷 Over the next few days I plan to share a few things that help me feel calm and spark joy in the hope of inspiring just one person out there to try something new to support their mental health ☺️

⚽️ I’m always surprised to hear how many schools and sports clubs don’t spend time stretching.

⚽️ I understand there are time constraints, but maintaining flexibility helps reduce the chance of pain and sports related injuries.

⚽️ Here are some simple lower limb stretches
Each stretch should be held without bouncing for 30 seconds. The sensation of tightness or slight discomfort should be felt, not pain.

🧸 It was great to review this little MCP Star at home last week and be able to use the Firefly Playpak whilst practicing his high kneeling.

🧸 With the help of the Playpak he mastered balancing in high kneeling without any hands on support for several minutes which is a fantastic achievement!

🧸 Using the playpak at the sofa means there’s a soft surface to place toys just out of reach to motivate maintaining a position, and develop core stability.

🧸 Toys need to be placed at the right height and distance to motivate movement and encourage play. If your sofa is too high, simply remove the cushion! It’s such a simple trick but can make a big difference with helping promote gross motor skills in babies and toddlers.
