The HPV vaccine is saving lives.

New research by Queen Mary University of London and Cancer Research UK shows deaths have fallen sharply since school-age girls began being offered it in 2008, and around 200 lives have been saved in England so far thanks to the vaccine.

The vaccine protects against high-risk HPV, a virus that can lead to cervical cancer and some other cancers.

Both girls and boys can get protection from high-risk HPV by having the HPV vaccination in their teenage years. It not only protects against cervical cancer, but other types of cancer too.

You can help protect your child by giving consent for them to have their vaccination when invited.

And remember: cervical screening is still important, even if you’ve had the HPV vaccine.

"Why can't I see a GP" – A Question We Hear Often

We understand that some patients feel frustrated when they can't always get an appointment directly with a GP. Your feedback is important, and we'd like to explain how our clinical team works.

Our practice is made up of a range of highly skilled healthcare professionals, including GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapists, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and other specialist practitioners.

Each member of the team has expertise in specific areas of healthcare. When you contact us, we aim to match you with the clinician who is best placed to help with your particular concern. This means you can often be seen more quickly by someone with the right skills and experience for your needs.

GPs remain a vital part of our team. They provide expert medical care, oversee complex cases and support patients with multiple or ongoing health conditions. However, not every health issue requires a GP appointment, and many patients receive excellent care from other clinicians who are specially trained in their area of practice.

Our goal is not to stop patients seeing a GP. It's to ensure every patient sees the most appropriate clinician at the right time, so they receive the best possible care.

Thank you for continuing to share your feedback with us as we work to provide safe, effective and timely care for everyone.
