With this heat, they must be struggling to find water and keep cool, just as much as we are.

Such a simple little thing could make a huge difference to a thirsty animal tonight. 💧☀️

Today, we had the privilege of caring for a family choosing a beautiful natural burial here on the Isle of Sheppey.

As we made the slow and peaceful journey out towards Harty, it was one of those moments that makes you stop and appreciate just how fortunate we are to live and work on such a beautiful island.

With the countryside stretching out around us and everything feeling so calm and still, it was a truly fitting final journey for someone’s loved one.

Sometimes, in the middle of busy everyday life, we forget just how special the place we call home really is.

A peaceful journey, in beautiful surroundings, carried out with dignity, care and respect. 💙

With everything currently in the news regarding the funeral director in Hull

What has happened is truly shocking and heartbreaking, and our thoughts remain with every family affected.

At Luke Allum Funeral Directors, we are proud members of the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors — SAIF.

As a SAIF member, we must follow a strict professional Code of Practice and our premises, mortuary facilities and working procedures are independently inspected.

We believe every family has the right to know exactly where their loved one is being cared for, who is looking after them and what standards their chosen funeral director follows.

When choosing a funeral director, please check that they are registered with a recognised professional organisation such as SAIF or the NAFD. Do not ever feel uncomfortable asking questions or requesting proof of membership — a reputable funeral director will always be happy to provide it.

Thursday, we travelled to Stoke, completing a 432-mile round trip to bring a loved one safely back into our care. 💙

Today I completed a 5K muddy run for Cancer Research

In my line of work, I’ve had the privilege of looking after so many families affected by cancer and have seen first hand the heartbreak it can cause.

Today I did this for every family I’ve had the honour of caring for and in memory of those sadly no longer with us.

Every muddy step was worth it. This one was for you all. 💗

With the temperatures so high at the moment, the comfort and wellbeing of the families in our care is always our priority.
Whenever families travel in our funeral vehicles, we always ensure that fresh, cold bottled water is available to help keep everyone comfortable during what is already a difficult day.
If you are attending a funeral in this warm weather, please remember to bring plenty of cold drinks with you and keep some in your car too. Staying hydrated is so important, especially if you are spending time outdoors or travelling between venues.
Please take care of yourselves and those around you. ❤️
