☀️ Staying Safe in the Hot Weather ☀️
As temperatures rise, it's important that we all take a little extra care of ourselves, our families and our neighbours, especially older adults and those who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
At Eric Eyre Funeral Service, we are proud to support our local community and would like to share a few simple tips to help everyone stay safe and comfortable during the warm weather:
✅ Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.
✅ Keep Your Home Cool – Close curtains or blinds during the hottest part of the day and open windows when temperatures drop in the evening.
✅ Avoid the Midday Heat – If possible, stay indoors between 11am and 3pm when the sun is at its strongest.
✅ Dress for the Weather – Wear loose-fitting, light-coloured clothing and a hat when outdoors.
✅ Check on Loved Ones & Neighbours – A quick phone call or visit can make a big difference, particularly for elderly relatives or those living alone.
✅ Look Out for Signs of Heat Exhaustion – Dizziness, headaches, excessive sweating and fatigue can all be warning signs that someone needs to cool down and rehydrate.
❤️ A little kindness goes a long way. If you know someone who may be struggling in the heat, take a moment to check they're comfortable and have everything they need.
Stay safe, stay cool, and enjoy the sunshine responsibly.
