We’re really pleased to share that any enquiries received through our charity pages will now be passed to Rhian 💚

Rhian will make initial contact to gather a little more information before the team decides if, and how, we may be able to help. This may include arranging a telephone call, video call, or even a home visit depending on the situation and support needed.

Rhian brings a huge wealth of experience to the team, having worked across Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Parent Support, and Social Services, including assessing and reviewing care packages. She also leads and supports the Therapy Assistants at BMOT, meaning she has a fantastic understanding of both practical support and the wider challenges families and individuals can face.

We know reaching out can sometimes feel daunting, so our aim is always to make the process as friendly, supportive and approachable as possible.

Had a lovely introductory meeting with Umbrella Assessment and Therapy today (whilst sitting in reception at a hotel in Kos!)

We chatted about the realities of being women in business, the difficulty of relinquishing control when the work means so much to you, balancing family life alongside growing a business, navigating the ever demanding world of social media, and most importantly, our shared passion for genuinely helping families and getting things right.

It was such a lovely chat, grounded in shared values, authenticity, and a real commitment to person-centred support.

I can honestly say that if I were recommending a team who are passionate about thorough assessment, understanding individuals, and getting diagnosis and support right for both adults and children with autism and ADHD, then Umbrella Assessment & Therapy would absolutely be a company I would recommend.

I hope to have the opportunity to meet in person for a coffee and chat soon - when we are in the same country!

BMOT

Today I met the lovely Beverley Maw, Occupational Therapist from BMOT today who had travelled a long way to join me for a visit to see a lovely client. Joint work and collaboration is so important for clients with complex sensory, physical and communication needs.

I took an hour out lunchtime between visits to connect and catch up over a coffee, with a lovely beach scene! We had so much to talk about and uncovered so many similarities with our personal and professional values. Integrity, transparency and empathy were definitely our top shared values. We are also both non-stop business owners who can't just work 9-5 and want to help as many people as possible, (Sometimes to the detriment of our own wellbeing). However it's good to recognise this and it's so validating when you meet someone in the same boat!

Looking forward to more joint working, networking and coffee ☕ 🩷

A few weeks ago, BMOT supported a young lady and her mum on their first trip to London — straight to her dream at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter ✨

We learned so much about transport, hotels and accessibility, and it’s sparked a new goal to explore more of the UK with growing confidence and independence.

Travel training continues over the holidays… and Beverley is hoping for an invite next time 👀

(And of course — matching BMOT bears were necessary! 🧸)

💛💜💙💚 A Special Thank You 💜💙💚💛

We are incredibly grateful to Terry Wilkins OBE and his wonderful wife Mary Wilkins for their magnificent donation of £500 to the BMOT Foundation.

We had the pleasure of a video call today with Terry and Mary and it’s safe to say they are nothing short of inspiring. In
Their 80’s they are still incredibly active – involved in multiple charities and even part of a music band! 🎶

Terry has also very kindly agreed to become a trustee of the BMOT Foundation, which means so much to us as we continue to grow and support more individuals and families.

And as if that wasn’t enough… Mary has offered to start creating some BMOT Bears 🧸💜 – we cannot wait to see these come to life!

Terry and Mary also shared their magic recipe for a long and happy marriage… being best friends 💛 and we think that’s just wonderful.

We’re also proud to share that Terry and Mary are the lovely
Beth’s grandparents – and now we can all see exactly where she gets her energy, kindness, and passion from.

Thank you both for your generosity, your time, and your belief in what we are building. It truly means the world 🌍

💛💙💚💜 BMOT is ONE! 💜💚💙💛

I honestly can’t believe I’m writing this…

A year ago, BMOT started as just me — one Occupational Therapist — after a conversation with my other half. I just knew I needed to work in a way that felt right… staying true to my values and always doing the right thing for the people and families I support.

Since then, it’s grown into something I’m so proud of, including the launch of the BMOT Foundation!

We’ve welcomed incredible OT’s, then a physio who wanted to be part of what we’re building, and finally our SALT — completing our little therapy trio 💜💚💙

And now… we’re growing again, with a team of Therapy Assistants 💛 in the making who will be a huge part of both BMOT and the BMOT Foundation.

And we’re not stopping there… there are lots more ideas, plans and exciting things already in the works behind the scenes 👀✨

Somewhere along the way, we even won an award 🏆 — which still feels surreal!

It hasn’t all been easy. There have been challenges and a bit of noise along the way… but I’ve had some of the best people around me — the ones who remind me why I started and help me block out anything that doesn’t align with what BMOT stands for.

Because I KNOW we’re doing the right thing.
