Beverley 💚 and Bethany 💜 were in the BMOT Hub and they spent time motivating and encouraging each other, bouncing ideas around and thinking creatively about all the different ways we can use the Hub inclusively, making sure it can be a welcoming and useful space for everyone. 🧸

They also had some time to explore our immersive therapy room, looking at the possibilities and thinking about how this amazing space can support the people who use our Hub.

But after all the serious thinking, planning and exploring, we came to perhaps the most important conclusion of the day…

🍪 The new Jaffa Cake Cookie is officially THE BEST! 😂🙌

A great day of teamwork, ideas, inclusion and, of course, very important biscuit-based research! 💚💜💙❤️🧸

Today our OT is going to facilitate a budgeting session with a client who has sustained a brain injury and is moving on to more independent living, then going shopping to ikea to look at storage solutions for another client. These “executive functions” are quite commonly impacted with brain injury and for people who are neurodiverse (as well as the general population!)

By carefully breaking tasks down- things can get easier!

Unfortunately, Beverley’s phone number has been compromised, and she’s currently being inundated with nasty calls and messages.

Unfortunately, she’s had to delete WhatsApp from both her personal and business accounts while she get things sorted.

So, if there is no answer on your messages or calls, please don’t take it personally — that’s why! ❤️l

Numbers may need to be changed 🙄

Our BMOT Foundation volunteers had a fantastic day at the Accessible Festival!🌟

It was wonderful to be part of such an inclusive event, bringing people together for a fun-filled day that was truly accessible for everyone.

We loved sharing our sensory activities with families and visitors, and of course, BMOT Bear was on hand all day for plenty of cuddles, smiles and photos! 🧸

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to say hello and joined us throughout the day. We hope you had as much fun as we did.

We can’t wait to see you all again next year!

Our BMOT Foundation volunteers have been busy this evening collecting a fantastic donation of clothing from George at Asda with the wonderful support of Chelsea Wild from the Sheffield Handsworth Asda store.

We’re incredibly grateful for such a generous donation, which will help support our local communities.

Keep an eye on this page for details of our upcoming ✨ BMOT Foundation Pop-Up Shop ✨ where you’ll find baby, children’s and adult clothing—including school uniforms—all available for a small donation.

A huge thank you to Chelsea and everyone at Asda for their kindness and generosity

I am absolutely delighted to announce some very exciting news… 🎉

BMOT and the BMOT Foundation have officially secured a venue for offices, clinics, groups, skill progression sessions, assessments and so much more, The BMOT Haven!

Over the coming weeks we’ll be developing lots of plans and ideas for how we can best use the space, and our aim is to start piloting groups, sessions and activities during the summer holidays, whilst ensuring we remain within appropriate boundaries regarding Ofsted and CQC regulations.

This is a huge step forward in our vision of creating a safe, supportive and therapeutic community space, and we honestly couldn’t be more excited about what this could become.

Watch this space!

🌟 Would Your Child Benefit from a Fun Therapy Group in School Holidays? 🌟

We’re exploring the possibility of running some school holiday therapy groups in the South Yorkshire area and would love to hear what parents and carers think!

These sessions would be designed and delivered by experienced Occupational Therapists (OT), Physiotherapists and Speech & Language Therapists (SALT), with every group led by at least one qualified therapist and supported by a team with a wealth of experience working with children and young people.

Even more excitingly, these sessions would be subsidised by the BMOT Foundation, helping us make specialist therapy input more accessible to local families.

We’re considering a mixture of:

🎨 Fun, activity-based groups focusing on:
• Fine motor skills
• Gross motor skills
• Communication and interaction
• Confidence and social skills
• Sensory regulation
• Play and participation

💦 Potential Hydrotherapy Sessions
We are also exploring the possibility of offering holiday hydrotherapy sessions, combining fun, movement, confidence-building and therapeutic benefits in a supportive environment. We’d particularly love to hear if this is something families would be interested in.

📚 Topic-specific workshops for parents and children, such as:
• Sensory processing and regulation
• Emotional regulation
• Handwriting and fine motor skills
• Developing communication skills
• Supporting independence
• Physical development and movement

This would initially be a pilot project, helping us understand what families need and enjoy, with the hope of developing something even bigger in the future.

💬 Would this be something you’d be interested in?

We’d love to hear:
✔️ Your child’s age
✔️ Topics or skills you’d like covered
✔️ Whether hydrotherapy would be of interest
✔️ Preferred session lengths
✔️ Whether you’d prefer child-only groups, parent workshops, or a combination of both

Whether your child has additional needs, a diagnosis, an injury, or you simply feel they would benefit from some extra support and development opportunities, we’d love to hear your thoughts.

As this is a pilot project, your feedback will help us shape what we offer and ensure it meets the needs of local families.
