What a fantastic afternoon shared between Fletcher House - Somerset Care and Field House! 🌟
The Fletcher Arrowheads took on the Field Flyers in a friendly quiz match filled with lots of head scratching, laughter, teamwork, and thinking caps firmly on! 🤔✨
Hosted wonderfully by Fletcher House, the afternoon ended in an incredible draw, with both teams achieving a massive 37 points each! 🎉👏 Until next time…
This special event was inspired by a newspaper clipping from the Local Journal, dated 20th October 1961, which told the story of 26 residents from Field House travelling to Fletcher House for afternoon tea — following an earlier visit from Fletcher residents just weeks before. The article proudly stated, “this is the first time that anything of this sort has been tried.”
Sixty-five years later, the managers of Fletcher and Field decided it was time to recreate this wonderful tradition — and what a success it was! ❤️
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, with Karen, Field Manager providing the quiz questions, Annie, Fletcher Manager keeping score, and both Activities Teams cheering on and supporting their residents throughout. 🤩
Now the challenge continues… Fletcher House will be visiting Field House in August for the rematch!!!! 🏆
