better in tune with their emotions, strengths, and weaknesses, whilst partnering with horses and myself to develop emotionally and spiritually. Do you feel not quite right, that there is more to life, do you constantly doubt yourself and not trust your judgement. Do you make a decision only to start getting those nagging doubts, that little voice telling you, you are wrong. Do you have a feeling deep inside of you saying that there is something inside you that needs your attention. Perhaps you have been feeling out of balance or feeling lost, sad, angry, ill and nothing brings you inner peace – shadow work might just change your life. Shadow work is the process of making the unconscious conscious, and becoming aware of these hidden and repressed aspects of ourselves, exploring them, forgiving them and accepting them. Letting go of restrictions that we put upon ourselves, the doubts and insecurities. As we work with our shadow, we realise why we are how we are. We all have a shadow filled with rules and memories from the past, since childhood. On my spiritual path I have had to work with my shadow. It was amazing how restrictions that I put upon myself came from childhood. The teacher telling me I would never get very far, parents guiding me in the only way they knew how by clipping my wings and keeping me safe. Living the life that everyone else wanted me to live. Be a good girl, sometimes we ned to be a bad girl to feel alive! Work hard at school trying to get good grades but only ever being a “C”. I held onto this one for a long time and did not believe I could do well. Failing in later life in a business and then restricting myself from pushing myself and doing well in case I should lose everything again. Never feeling good enough, attractive and happy with me. During my journey like a snake I have shed many skins and these skins were my shadow. The rules, restrictions, pains that had accumulated within me. One big one for me and this will make you laugh; I was brought up to believe that ladies never left the house without wearing a bra. My last skin that I have shed was very much about my sexuality and releasing myself. I have done that the bra is in the bin, I look in the mirror and love my body, I feel that I am now alive. All the doubts within me that came from being a fat child have now been let go. I am beautiful with my lumps and bumps and I love every part of me. As a spiritual healer I also work with you healing from within. Did you know that stored emotions can become physical pain. At one time l became very ill and the Drs told me I had ME, Fibromyalgia. I said no, I knew it was all emotional, obviously no point telling that to a doctor. So, I again started a journey into me, into my shadow and energy. With the help of my horses, I slowly started to let go to release and restore my energy and body. Healing is never easy we have to face perhaps parts of ourselves we do not like. This can be hard when we realise the person hurting us was ourselves. We need to talk to the emotions and feelings, acknowledge, learn from them and heal. I do shadow work with horses as you can imagine they as foals have their lives mapped out for them. But deep inside at some point their shadow will start to step forward and healing needs to take place. I have seen horses completely change from angry “dangerous” animals to soft, peaceful, connected horses. This is because they have been heard, I think you deserve to be heard as well.
