Following up physical activity with a virtual travel experience or cultural showcase is a wonderful way to stimulate the mind, spark curiosity,and keep the afternoon lively and entertaining. The Netflix series 'Feed Phil' in Manila was very funny and entertaining 😄
Phil feasted on pork sisig, shared a roadside lunch with Jeepney drivers and survived his first "boodle fight" he had a tasty tour of Filipino cuisine 😋 We then enjoyed some freshly baked white chocolate chip cookies for afternoon tea 😋 and talked about what we had learnt about what Filipino life

We were delighted to welcome a special 🐾 visitor to our home today - Bob a black Labrador ❤️ trained for Pet Therapy, who along with his owner Elizabeth, brought lots of smiles 😁cuddles 🥰 and kisses 😘 to our residents this morning.

Make & Mend Monday, while we didn't have anything broken to fix this week, we certainly stayed busy creating ☺️ We started Knitting 🐑 projects & lavender 🪻🪻🪻harvesting: We made great use of the lavender grown right here in our garden this year 🪻🪻🪻 Wardrobe sachets: We spent time shredding the dried lavender to create wonderful - smelling bags to freshen up our residents wardrobes 🪻🪻🪻
The lounge smells absolutely amazing right now!

We had a lovely day 😊 celebrating 🥳 National Wildlife 🐻🦒🐅 Day today. We enjoyed Sir David Attenborough’s BBC documentary ‘Mammals’ 🐼🦘 🐘this morning. After lunch we had a Quiz and learnt fun facts about Red Pandas, Quokkas and Fennec Foxes 🦊 ❤️

Sitting with our wonderful resident Dennis, as he looked back on the moment that changed the world forever:the outbreak of the Second World War.
Dennis was just a young lad when Neville Chamberlain made the announcement over the wireless 🛜 He vividly remembers sitting and listening, the air thick with tension as everyone gathered around the radio.
Dennis 's incredible memories remind us of all the resilience, bravery,and spirit of his generation. We are so proud to have him here sharing his stories with us 🥰

Our residents enjoyed learning about the Philippines being a global leader in coconut 🥥 production. They watched 'How Billions of Coconuts Brought Wealth to the Philippines' on YouTube and tasted fresh coconut 🥥 and coconut 🥥 water 💦 some only tasting it for the first time😋. Thank you Jane for your stories about your home country and taste of Filipino culture and some absolutely delicious traditional food 😋
