I cannot emphasise enough how careful any client must be when getting a massage off the opposite s*x or vice versa.
I recently heard a story of a female therapist in Liverpool being s*xually assaulted by a male client.
To protect yourself there are a couple of things as a client you can do.
But my top ones would be
1. Find a therapist that has a good reputation through word of mouth not just because they post loads on social media.
2. If they are of opposite s*x make sure you have a chaperone whether it's in your home or in a treatment room.
3. If the tone of messages feels "weird" or "off" or when you go to the appointment or they come to you and something isn't sitting well with you. Do not go through it. This may cost you the price of the treatment but I would rather pay that than find myself in a vulnerable position!
Please be safe, please be vigilant and please make sure you get every bit of information you need from the professional through messages if you need to before committing to booking an appointment!
π΄ A pervert massage therapist s*xually assaulted women while they were face down on his mobile massage table.
Steven Cafferky operated 'Hands On Massage Therapy' offering treatments for customers in their own homes.
He advertised 'Mobile Sports Massage and Massage Therapy Sessions available in the comfort of your own home/place of work', offering appointments seven days a week.
He offered his services across Leyland, Chorley, Southport and Preston with appointments from 7am to 9pm.
Many of his victims had used his services before, however in July 2025 he began 'covering rather more than he was engaged to undertake'.
