The art of noticing. 🦋
If I’d had been looking down and caught up in my own thoughts, I would never have noticed this.
These beautiful white butterflies, flying together around Harewood House.
And yet, moments like this can give us so much when we allow ourselves to notice the good and beauty that is around us - those moments where you feel a sense of presence, connection, joy, peace, or any other positive emotion.
An anxious brain can become so focused on the negative - a constant overthinking loop of what has or what might happen that we miss what is happening right here, right now.
So perhaps today, just start lifting your head and looking around you.
This is the art of noticing, and it’s so personal. Notice what brings you a positive emotion.
I call these moments “glimmers” ✨ and they are like a healing tonic for an anxious mind.
You don’t have to stop and fight every anxious thought, in fact that just makes it a whole lot stronger.
Sometimes, there is more happening in this moment than our anxious brain is allowing us to see.
Give yourself the opportunity to shift your focus, and enjoy what else is there just waiting to be noticed. 🦋
