So, a little about my education and work history for those who haven't asked or been to see me.
I graduated high school in 2007 in California USA. I then attended a local trade school for massage therapy. This course was 2 years full time were we focused on anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, eastern and western massage techniques, different pathology within the body. Law and ethics, customer care and draping. We also studied abd learned 12 styles of massage each style we learned we had to complete 50 clinical hours- before taking our state board test we had to complete 720 clinical hours.
The state board consisted of a 150 multiple choice test around the topics we studied, a criminal background check and a 1 hour practical massage while answering questions asked by the panel watching your draping, techniques and client interaction.
I completed this course and certification process in 2009, at 19 I was CAMT certified and got my first job at a local salon where I decided to go back and specialize in deep tissue, sports massage and preganacy massage. Through the years I continued my education and training becoming a certified personal trainer, yoga instructor and skincare level 2 tech. I have worked in medical settings, clinics, gyms, schools, spa's, salons, with Chiropractors, dentist and Physiotherapist.
I now have my own business at Flaxdrayton farm yard where I offer many styles of massage including lymphatic drainage, sports, preganacy, therapeutic massage, Swedish, myofascial release and indian head. This sounds like a huge mix, and honestly it is- however after bejng certified for so many years and finding my career so interesting and loving what I do it only made since!
