👣 Barefoot is best when it’s safe to do so.
Babies and young children don’t need supportive shoes to develop strong, healthy feet.
Going barefoot gives little feet the freedom to move, bend, spread and feel the ground naturally — helping develop:
🦶 Foot and ankle strength
⚖️ Balance & coordination
🧠Proprioception and body awareness
👣 Natural toe spread and foot development
🚶 Confidence as they learn to stand, walk, run and play
Shoes absolutely have a purpose — protecting feet from cold, rough or unsafe surfaces — but they don’t need to do the job that growing feet are designed to learn for themselves.
When shoes are needed, think lightweight, flexible, wide around the toes and comfortable rather than stiff and heavily supportive.
At home? Socks off. Shoes off. Let those little feet explore. 👣
Save this for your little one & send it to another parent!
