Why I used a stamping technique for this microneedling treatment ๐
Every skin is different, which means every treatment should be too.
In this case, I chose a stamping technique because we were treating atrophic acne scars, particularly deeper boxcar scarring, where precision is key.
My reasons were:
โจ To accurately treat atrophic acne scars, including ice pick, boxcar and rolling scars.
โจ We were working at deeper needle depths, where I prefer greater control.
โจ The treatment area included smaller, uneven contours that benefit from precise needle placement.
โจ Stamping allows me to focus on each area individually and tailor the treatment to the skin in front of me.
Research supports microneedling for improving atrophic acne scars, but there isn't one universally "correct" movement pattern. My technique is chosen based on the treatment goals, the area being treated and, most importantly, patient safety.
If you're considering microneedling and would like to know whether it's suitable for your skin, send me a message or book a consultation. I'd love to help.
