Queenscourt Hospice

Queenscourt Hospice The services we provide at Queenscourt Hospice are all free to those who need them. A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who helps us in any way, big or small.

Queenscourt Hospice is an independent charity committed to helping patients, and their families, to live with their illness, at whatever stage, and doing our best to improve their quality of life, either at home or in the hospice. To continue to provide these services we need to raise over £2 million pounds each year - this is only made possible by the kindness and generosity of the people who sup

port our work. If you are interested in supporting the work of Queenscourt there are many different ways in which you can become involved. These include joining our weekly lottery, organising your own fundraising event or supporting an event organised by the hospice, becoming a regular donor, donating unwanted clothes or bric a brac to our charity shops or volunteering to help with our events or in one of our charity shops. We can’t do it without you. If you are interested in becoming involved then please contact the fundraising team on [email protected].

A huge thank you to Skelmersdale Boundary Harriers for recently holding a very special Backyard Ultra in memory of their much-loved club member, Mark Doyle.💜💚

Mark was a valued member of the club, a kind and supportive friend and someone who was always willing to help others.

To celebrate Mark’s life, his love of running and the friendships he made through the sport, 30 runners came together for the event, with friends and club members there to cheer everyone on. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Together, they covered an incredible 459 miles and raised an amazing £1,326 for Queenscourt Hospice! 🎉👏

We are so incredibly grateful to Nikki, Anna and everyone at Skelmersdale Boundary Harriers who took part, supported the event and helped make this fantastic fundraiser possible. 💫👟

Your generous donation will help us continue providing vital care and support to local patients and their families when they need it most.

Thank you for turning Mark’s love of running and community into such a wonderful tribute. 💜💚

Hospice deficits have more than doubled in a year.

New Hospice UK analysis shows hospices across England ended the last financial year with a collective deficit of more than £70 million.

Meanwhile, nearly 6 in 10 hospices have made or are considering cuts to frontline services, 380 hospice beds are out of use and specialist community hospice visits have fallen by 150,000 in a year.

With demand for end of life care rising, this cannot continue.

We’re calling on the Government to act urgently to give hospices a secure future.

Queenscourt Hospice launches ‘Your Queenscourt Still Needs You’ appeal as hospice deficits more than double in a year.

Queenscourt Hospice is calling on its communities to continue their incredible support as it launches the next stage of its appeal, ‘Your Queenscourt Still Needs You’, following a national BBC interview highlighting the growing financial crisis facing hospices across the country. NHS funding covers just 24% of Queenscourt’s core costs, meaning the hospice is heavily dependent on fundraising, donations and grants to maintain its services.

Queenscourt Hospice was chosen as the setting for the national interview, broadcast on Friday 14th August 2026, as hospices continue to operate at a growing deficit.

Hospices across England ended the last financial year with a collective deficit of more than £70 million – more than double the previous year – as rising costs, increased demand and stagnant funding place unprecedented pressure on end-of-life care services.
