📣 Launching in November! Award-winning innovation in Braille labelling!

We’re excited to introduce the Nemonic Dot, an innovative Braille label printer that has been named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026* in the Accessibility category!

Designed to make Braille labelling simpler, the Nemonic Dot uses a smartphone app to turn typed text or speech into Braille labels, helping make everyday items and information more accessible.

From identifying household items to labelling resources in schools and workplaces, it’s an exciting example of how technology can help support greater independence.

We’re looking forward to bringing the Nemonic Dot to our range of assistive technology solutions.

Blindness Awareness Month: Seeing Beyond Sight

Blindness doesn't look the same for everyone.

Some people have no useable vision at all, while others have partial sight and may struggle with everyday tasks such as reading, recognising faces, navigating unfamiliar places or using a computer.

And despite common misconceptions, sight loss doesn't mean losing your independence, your ambitions or your ability to enjoy life.

This is where technology and accessibility can make a real difference.

From magnification and text-to-speech devices to screen-reading software and accessible smartphones, there are more ways than ever to help people with sight loss access information, stay connected and carry out everyday activities with greater confidence.

But technology is only part of the picture. Accessible environments, inclusive workplaces, understanding communities and the freedom to make your own choices all matter, too.

💬 So what can we all do to make a difference?

Never assume what someone can or cannot do based on their sight.
Ask before offering assistance, and respect the answer.
Make information accessible, whether it's online, in print or in person.
Remember that everyone experiences sight loss differently, and support should reflect individual needs.

Looking for ways to make everyday life a little easier?

At VisionAid, we work with people who are blind or partially sighted, their families and the professionals who support them to explore technology and practical solutions that suit individual needs.

📖 Would you like a free brochure?
Whether you're looking for yourself, a family member or someone you support professionally, we're happy to help you explore the options.

📞 Call us on 0800 002 5555 or email [email protected] to request your free brochure, gain advice and have a friendly, no-obligation chat with our team or request to book a demonstration.

Because everyone deserves the opportunity to access information, maintain their independence and feel confident in everyday life.
