I’ve recently started using this Colourful Semantics resource within my speech and language therapy sessions to support children with sentence building and language development. 🌈

This visual approach helps children learn how to put words together into clearer, longer sentences and can be especially helpful for children struggling with sentence structure or joining words together.

Hi, I’m a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant offering fun, friendly 1:1 early language sessions for young children in Stevenage and surrounding areas 🏡

These sessions are ideal for little ones who may need support with:

✨ Building little sentences, one word at a time ✨

This session focused on early language development, using fun, hands-on resources to help this lovely learner move from using mostly single words, to start describing things using two- and three-word sentences 💬

Every small step matters, and it’s so rewarding to see those “lightbulb” moments as children begin to put words together independently 🌟

🗣️ Did you know?
Children usually learn to say most speech sounds clearly between ages 4 and 7 – but every child is unique! Practising targets regularly can make a big difference in clarity and confidence.

I use Jolly Phonics picture cards in my home-based sessions to make learning fun, visual, and engaging. These sessions are perfect for reinforcing targets set by a Speech and Language Therapist or for extra practice between therapy blocks.

🌟 A lovely session this morning 🌟

Today we worked on building general sound awareness and exploring tongue placement in a fun, relaxed way. We used games and visual cues to help develop awareness of where sounds are made in the mouth — an important first step before clearer speech can develop.

It’s always wonderful seeing children grow in confidence as they begin to notice and feel the difference themselves 💛

🌟 Home-Based Speech & Language Support

Hello! I’m Lou, a Speech & Language Therapy Assistant with almost 10 years’ experience working with children across Hertfordshire. I’m also a mother of three, so I know how important communication is for a child’s confidence, learning, and everyday life.

I offer private, one-to-one home-based speech & language support for children who already have targets set by a qualified SLT. Sessions are structured, fun, and motivating, helping children practise and consolidate their goals in a familiar, supportive environment.

Who these sessions help:
