There’s nothing quite like a trip to the shops! ✨

On a Thursday morning, our Wellbeing Team accompany our residents out into the local community for fresh air, running errands and having a good browse together - helping to keep their day to day routines and independence! 🌳🍃

Last week, it was Liz and Graham’s turn to hit the shops - both choosing to have a look around Tesco! 🛒

Liz enjoyed doing her weekly shop with Nicky, choosing her own toiletries and essentials for the week! 🧴

Graham enjoyed browsing all of the Christmas section with Megan, grabbing some coffee for our Cafe - and picking a Krispie Kreme Donut for the journey home! 🍩☕️

We love being able to support our residents to keep in touch with their community. Trips out help to strengthen their confidence, create meaningful routines and help to maintain independence for the little things we so often overlook day to day! ♥️

We had the pleasure of welcoming Owl Adventures to Springfield Manor last week for a fabulous Bird of Prey handling experience!🦉

Falconer, Robyn, brought along 5 beautiful birds of prey to meet and greet with our residents - hosting a fabulous handling show in our Cafe, and visiting residents in their rooms on each of our communities! 🪶

Our residents each got to handle Indie, a gorgeous 5-month old White-Faced Owl, and got to experience owls and a hawk flying amongst them! The birds flew arm to arm - and walking frame to walking frame! 🤭

The experience was immersive, educational and truly magical, particularly for our residents who have owned birds as pets in the past! We just know our residents will be talking and reminiscing about this visit for weeks to come! ✨

Thank you so much to Robyn, and all at Owl Adventures, for such a fantastic visit. We loved meeting you, the birds, and learning so many facts we can’t wait to share with others! ♥️

Last week, we welcomed St Thomas’ Church Choir to our home for an afternoon of singing and reminiscing through music! 🎶⛪️

The choir sang a beautiful selection of our residents favourite songs - including songs from Oliver, ABBA and a Beatles Medley - that sparked memories and singing amongst all! 🧠🎵

Choir Leader, Jenny, performed a beautiful selection of songs by The Beatles on our Grand Piano too! 🎹

It was wonderful to watch all of our residents singing together in harmony, remembering lyrics to songs and coming alive through music! ♥️

Thank you to all at St Thomas’ Church for sharing your afternoon with us, and putting on such a fantastic performance! We look forward to welcoming you all again in December! 🎄

🌟 WE’RE SO PROUD OF YOU, MEG! 🌟

We’re absolutely delighted to share some wonderful news from Springfield Manor Care Home… our brilliant Activity Co-Ordinator, Megan Kettle, has been named a regional finalist in the West Midlands Great British Care Awards! 🎉👏

Megan has been shortlisted for The Care Home Activity Organiser Award – and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving.

Every day, Megan brings so much care, kindness, creativity and fun to Springfield Manor. From creating memorable moments and trying new activities, to making sure every resident feels included, valued and able to enjoy life to the fullest, Megan makes a real difference to the people we care for.

This recognition is a wonderful reflection of the passion she puts into everything she does, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her as part of our team.

Congratulations, Megan! We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way and wishing you the very best of luck at the West Midlands Great British Care Awards in November!

A Paddington Movie Marathon and a themed Clay Class for National Teddy Bear Day! 🧸

Trips out to our local community with our Wellbeing Team! 🌳 (Weather permitted)

A live performance from one of our favourite singers, Paulo Pinto!🎙️

A few snaps from some of the one-to-one sessions our residents have been enjoying over the last 2 weeks with our Wellbeing Team! 🌺✨

One-to-one sessions take place each week on a Friday morning, and around other activities and events where our team are able! These sessions are all about ensuring each of our residents get one on one time with a member of our Wellbeing Team, engaging in something meaningful to them!

Our residents have enjoyed spending time in the Garden - picking flowers and listening to their favourite music in the sun! 🌞🌷🎵

They have enjoyed playing new board games and IQ games, putting together new jigsaw puzzles, colouring new pictures and reading books on the balcony! 📚🧩

Most importantly, they have enjoyed good company and good conversation, sharing the things that mean the most to them to a listening ear!👂🏻💬

If you have an idea for a one-to-one session for your relative, please speak to a member of our Wellbeing Team on your next visit - or drop them a suggestion slip into our Wellbeing Postbox in Reception! 📮

Last Wednesday, we welcomed some beautiful pooches into our home for our Brew and Bark Coffee Morning - all in celebration of International Dog Day! 🐶🐾

Fern, Amber, Rhaegar and Zucko made themselves comfortable in our Cafe, and spent the morning providing our residents and visitors with a big dose of Dog Therapy! They also enjoyed plenty of our residents homemade treats! ♥️🍖

Fern is an ex-service dog, and enjoyed making her way around each of our communities to greet residents across our home! Fern put so many smiles on everyone’s faces, and received lots of fuss! 🤭

A big thank you to relatives and members of the public who brought their dogs into our home and helped us make the morning such a special experience for our residents - you are all welcome back any time! 🐾

We would also like to extend thanks to Stoke-on-Trent Lord Mayor and Staffordshire Police for joining us for the morning! It was lovely to chat with you about our Community, and to welcome you into our home again!🏡
