There was a lot of discussion on BBC Radio 2 this afternoon following The Independent’s report today about misleading funeral advertisements.

We wanted to share this to bring a bit of gentle awareness to our families. When planning for the future or organising a farewell for a loved one, all is not always what it seems at first glance.

We at Sims and Jones are saddened to learn of the passing of Canon Jason Jones. Canon Jason was a family friend and will be an enormous loss to Morriston and all parishioners. We thank him for his friendship and his service and may he rest in peace, and rise in glory.

Thanks to KatRoams for highlighting the history and memories that are attached, to what is now, Sims and Jones Funeral Directors.

After Sal passed away, Eirlys continued to work the shop on her own for a period, extraordinary work ethic. When it was too much, and the shop was closed, it was such a shame. This saw opportunity for the birth of Sims and Jones, which Eirlys supported wholeheartedly.

The family name continues, but serving the community in a different way, something I’m sure Sal and Eirlys would be very proud of.
