🐈Something to ease you into Monday morning! 🐈

Our Residents at Willowbrook View Luxury Care Home are welcomed into a care community of both people and animals, with regular visits from farms, ponies, their own pets,and a therapy dog.

On Friday our care community welcomed a new kitten on-site, which was irresistible to all, including our General Manager, Mathan who thought it was purrrfect! 😜

We feel so privileged to have been able to celebrate such a milestone with you and your loving family!!

Even Vino from Happy Hooves Equine Ltd - Equine Assisted Therapy & Transport and Nick’s Ice Cream Van Hire came in to provide some equine enrichment and 99 Flakes (quite a fitting tribute!) 🐴🍦

Here at Willowbrook View, we are able to help support you, and your family, if a loved one has a diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer’s.

We offer a variety of support services, including day care, respite and permanent residencies.

Tim will offer impartial advice, guidance and can signpost you to the relevant support services in the area.

Recent news of Jon Snow's Alzheimer’s diagnosis has brought an important conversation back into the spotlight.

What is the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia?

We often hear “Alzheimer’s” and “dementia” used interchangeably, but they’re not the same.

Dementia is an umbrella term for a set of symptoms affecting memory, thinking and behaviour.

It can be caused by many different diseases. These diseases affect the brain in different ways, resulting in different types of dementia.

Alzheimer’s is a specific disease in the brain and the most common cause of dementia, and most commonly affects people over 65.

Alzheimer’s can begin in the brain years before symptoms appear, and like all types of dementia, it progresses over time.

Understanding the difference matters. It helps us talk more accurately, support more effectively, and reduce stigma for the millions of people and families affected.

This year, all six of our Connaught Care Collection homes are coming together to celebrate Care Home Open Week with a fantastic World Cup themed programme of events, and everyone in our local communities are invited to join us, including you!

Care Home Open Week is a wonderful opportunity to open our doors, showcase life within our homes, and bring together residents, families, neighbours, local businesses, healthcare professionals and community groups for a week of connection, fun and celebration.

🏋️‍♀️ 🏋️ ADAPTIVE BY NAME, ADAPTIVE BY NATURE! 🏋️ 🏋️‍♀️

When the sun comes out, you've got to adapt!

So instead of our usual indoor session, James from Adaptive Fitness LTD took our Residents into the garden, making the most of the glorious weather while keeping everyone moving.

Factor 50 replaced sweatbands, sunhats replaced gym gear, and our Residents enjoyed some gentle exercise in the fresh air. ☀️

Some of us worked up a sweat just watching them🥵

Well done everyone – same great workout, just with a much better view!💪

🐕🦴🎉BUDDY APPRECIATION POST 🎉🦴🐕

We are simply enthralled with the little Shih Tzu x Jack Russell mix that is Buddy! 😍

Our Residents simply love love LOVE Buddy and we're surprised nobody's tried to kidnap him yet!!

We'd like to thank the incredible Julia for letting him visit and we cannot wait for your next visit on the morning of Thursday 4th June, see you soon Buddy!!!🥰🥰🥰

🦆⛵ JUBILATIONS AT JUBILEE LAKE ⛵🦆

What to do when it's a gorgeous day? Well, a few weeks ago we took our gorgeous Residents to the gorgeous Jubilee Lake! Gorgeous, right?

Events Ambassador Mick was on hand to make sure smiles were had throughout the outing and even made sure the benches were in working order 😁

🌱🪻🪴A big ‘Thank You!’ To Stratton Saint Margaret Parish Council 🪴🪻💐

A big thank you from us, to the 7 volunteers, who have given around 35 hours to Willowbrook View Care Home today, to help us with our Dementia Garden.

Volunteers have mowed, strimmed weeded, and painted, to transform our space.

This multi sensory garden will mean that for those living with Dementia there and lots of sensory prompts to help unlock their memories and a colourful calm space to enjoy.
