Last week we celebrated an incredible milestone as our latest cohort of counselling students completed their training ⭐️🎉

Over the course of their 4+ years training journey, they have shown dedication, resilience, compassion, and a genuine commitment to supporting others. They've embraced challenges, developed new skills, and grown both personally and professionally.

It has been a privilege to witness each student's progress, and we couldn't be prouder of everything they have achieved. As they take the next step into their counselling careers, we know they will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and communities they serve.

We have an exciting vacancy for a co-tutor for our Level 2 CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Skills, awarded by Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB)

This is a 22-week course, running on Monday evenings during term-time, from September 2026 to March 2027.

Willows Counselling and Training, based in Swindon, is a leading provider of counsellor training with over 35 years' experience.

On Sunday they will be performing at the Swindon Art Centre where our team on hand to say hi and talk to anyone who would like to know more about the work we do.

This evening was the Choir's last rehearsal for our Concert at the Arts Centre on Sunday. We will have a run-through on Sunday with the Band and we look forward to presenting to you what the girls have worked hard on hoping you will have an Enchanted Evening. See you there!

About the course:

Siblings have been curiously neglected in psychotherapy teaching and practice, and yet they have a huge impact on all our lives. In this workshop, Val Parker will share ideas developed in her book on siblings - A Group-Analytic Exploration of the Sibling Matrix: How Siblings Shape our Lives (Routledge, 2020).

The day will be both informative and interactive, giving you an opportunity to reflect on the influence of sibling relationships on your own life and to consider how to work more deeply and effectively with sibling issues in the consulting room and with the groups, teams, and organisations in which you work.

About the speaker:

Val Parker is a psychodynamic psychotherapist, group analyst, supervisor and writer working in private practice in West Oxfordshire. She is an experienced teacher and trainer and currently lectures on the Oxford Foundation Course in Group Analysis, the Turvey Diploma in Group Analysis and at the Department of Psychodynamic Studies at the University of Oxford. Her book A Group Analytic Exploration of the Sibling Matrix: How Siblings Shape our Lives, published in 2020, was received with widespread critical acclaim:

"… an important contribution to our thinking about sibling relationships, clearly and engagingly written, succinct and persuasive." - Christine Thornton, Group Analysis: The International Journal of Group-Analytic Psychotherapy
