You don’t need to fix “problem areas”.
Working out should come from a place of love for your body.
We should be marvelling in what our bodies are capable of…how high we can jump, how fast we can run, how heavy we can lift!
Sadly though so many adverts and fitness professionals out there prey on our insecurities by making us feel like we need to fix a problem area that is only really a problem because they are suggesting it is.
“Have a wobbly stomach? Download this app!”
“Get a thigh gap with our lower body workouts.”
“No bum? Download our b***y program.”
“Fix your bingo wings with our 20 day push up challenge.”
The intent of all of these may be genuine, however they are damaging the mentality of women when it comes to how we perceive our bodies, creating problems in our minds that aren’t even there!
Working out should make you feel wonderful about your body, not questioning it and certainly not shaming it.
If there is anything or anyone who makes you think otherwise…unfollow, unfriend, hide, delete, do what you got to do to take ownership of your body positivity.
And start celebrating all that your body has to offer, using workouts as a measure of just how amazing your body can be!
