A very special moment for everyone at Aldergate Medical Practice, and all who knew Dr Grahame Bruce.

Since the sad passing of Dr Bruce in December 2022, we have been fundraising to provide a lifesaving community defibrillator in his memory.
Dr Bruce dedicated so many years to caring for the people of Tamworth, and it feels fitting that his legacy will continue through something that has the potential to save lives.

We are incredibly proud to see this defibrillator now installed and available for the community, located at Russell House. It stands not only as a vital piece of equipment, but also as a lasting tribute to a much-loved doctor, colleague and friend. ❤️

💜 Cervical Screening Awareness Week 💜
Did you know that cervical screening saves thousands of lives every year? The test only takes around 10 minutes, but it could make a huge difference to your health.
If you're aged 25 to 64, you'll be invited for cervical screening every 5 years. The test checks for changes in the cells of your cervix, helping to identify and treat any problems early before they become more serious.
Remember, you're in control throughout your appointment. You can:
✅ Ask questions at any time
✅ Request a smaller speculum
✅ Pause or stop the test whenever you need to
📅 When you receive your invitation, make sure to book your appointment.
Missed your last screening? It's not too late — simply contact your GP practice to arrange an appointment.
A few minutes could help protect your future health. 💜

📢 Important Update to Prescription Queries 💊

We’d like to let you know about a small change we’ll be trialling from Monday to help improve the way prescription queries are managed.

⏰ New contact times for the Prescriptions Team:

9:00am – 11:00am
3:00pm – 4:00pm

During these times, you can contact the Prescriptions Team directly with any prescription-related queries.
✅ Why are we making this change?
Our aim is to:

Reduce the number of prescription calls coming through to Reception during the busiest part of the morning
Ensure your prescription queries are handled more efficiently by the most appropriate team

We hope this will help us provide a smoother and more effective service for everyone. Thank you, as always, for your support and understanding 💙
