⚠️ Burdwood Surgery will be closed for staff training next week ⚠️

We will be closed:
📆 Wednesday 16th September 2026
⏰ 13:00 to 18:30.

The telephone lines will also be closed. 📞

WestCall are covering the surgery during this period of time. If you require advice or treatment, please call NHS 111.

The surgery will re-open as normal at 08:00 on Thursday 17th September 2026.

August Friend and Family Results.

We’re delighted to share that 95.7% of our patients rated their experience as Good or Very Good during the month of August.

Do you know the signs of Type 1 Diabetes?

They are called the 4 Ts. If you, or your child, are weeing more often, constantly thirtsy, more tired than usual, or losing weight for no reason, it could by a symptom of type 1 diabetes.

If left undiagnosed, type 1 diabetes can be fatal.

If you're experiencing any of the 4Ts, contact us as soon as you can.

Winter Flu Vaccination Campaign ❄️💉

We would like to reassure all eligible patients that, in line with guidelines issued by NHS England, we will not be starting the winter flu vaccination campaign until after 1 October.

There is no need to contact the practice at this stage. Once bookings are open, we will be in touch with eligible patients with further information on how to arrange an appointment.

You can now check in for your appointment by scanning a QR code on your mobile phone.

Above both of our check-in machines is a poster with a QR code. Scan this QR code and follow the instructions to check in for your appointment.

This means you do not need to queue at the reception desk, or use our check-in machines, and it should speed up the appointment arrival process for you.
However, you can continue to check-in at the reception desk, or using the check-in machines, if you prefer.

If you have any diffuclties using the QR code, please speak to one of our friendly reception team members.

In July, our surgery had 115 appointments where patients failed to attend.

⏳ That's the equivalent of 24.5 hours of valuable clinical time that could have been used to care for other patients.

Every missed appointment means someone else may have had to wait longer to be seen. If you no longer need your appointment or cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancelling in advance allows us to offer your appointment to another patient who needs it.

Appointment reminders are sent out one week before and the day before with an option to reply to the message to cancel, you can call the dedicated cancellation line on option 2 on the telephone or cancel via the NHS App.

Together, we can make the best use of NHS resources and help ensure everyone receives timely care.

✅ Let us know as early as possible if you can't attend.
✅ Help us reduce waiting times for everyone.
