Important Notice – Online Blood Test Appointments

We are experiencing a number of blood test appointments being booked incorrectly online, which is causing considerable difficulties for both patients and our staff.

Please only book an online blood test appointment if you have a blood test form and the blood test has been agreed with a GP.

Booking these appointments incorrectly can lead to unnecessary delays and inconvenience for everyone.

If the online booking system continues to be used incorrectly, we may have to consider removing the option to self-book blood test appointments.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep this service running smoothly for all our patients.

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we have been raising money and donating all month.

West Berkshire Council and Age UK Berkshire are hosting an information event for Carers Rights Day on Friday 20th November 2026 from 14:00 to 17:00.

This year's theme is: 'Someone you know is a carer - but do they know it yet?'

The event will be held at Thatcham Rugby Club, Henwick Worthy Sports Fields, Henwick Lane, Thatcham, RG18 3BN.

A range of organisations will be available on the day to provide advice, information and support, alongside guest presentations.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service are holding an Armed Forces Veterans’ Hub at Newbury Fire Station on Friday 6 November, 10:00am – 1:00pm.

They welcome all Armed Forces veterans, serving personnel, reservists, and their families to their drop-in event at Newbury Fire Station, Hawthorn Road, Newbury, RG14 1LD.

It is an informal drop-in event, so attendees are free to come at any point between these hours - there is no need to book a place.

Attendees will receive a warm welcome and have the opportunity to meet and chat with other veterans, charities, and members of other organisations as well as current employees of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Pop in anytime between 10am and 1pm to join them for a complimentary hot drink and breakfast roll.

Dementia Clinics, in partnership with Nationwide Fairer Futures.

Dementia UK is offering free, confidential clinic appointments with a specialist dementia nurse, known as an Admiral Nurse.

The clinics are free and open to all; there is no need, or expectation, to be a customer of Nationwide to attend. They are for anyone living with, or caring for someone with, a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of dementia.

The clinics will be held at the Newbury Nationwide Branch on Tuesday 6th October and Wednesday 7th October 2026.
