Yesterday we explored the imagery of the Tree of Life found in mythology, ancient folklore and across religions. The tree represents the link between the physical and spiritual worlds. We used our finger prints to create the fruit - like those found on the ancient Baobab trees which can live up to 5000 years. Then today we tested our sense of smell by smelling different scents with our eyes closed. It was harder than we thought!

So far this week we have talked about the Mid Devon Show and we played a game guessing is it a cow is it a sheep or is it a chicken. So many breeds with confusing names!! Some flowers arrived for our lovely birthday lady and today we enjoyed Karl's chair exercises and we sang happy birthday over a special birthday lunch.

Another lovely week of sunshine has meant that we've been outside in our lovely gardens. We have done our weekly stretching in our chair workout with Karl, some of us can still reach our toes with ease. Some of our ladies have been modelling the best in summer headwear and today we had our weekly crossword and word challenge with Kathy. Some of us even volunteered to shell peas from the garden.This morning a few of us went out for coffee and enjoyed the sweet potato and macadamia nut, cake. Very very nice at nos 6! Happy days!

Today we sat in groups with a nice breeze, some of us completing our puzzles, some magic painting and some listening to today's choice of music which was Mozart. Yesterday we marked international barbershop music appreciation day, talking about the origins of barbershop music and listening to examples of popular tunes.

Enjoying the shade in this glorious weather.David had just got back from a few days in York. We talked about the city and the history of York from Roman times to modern day. Home of the Minster, chocolate making and the railway. We talked about famous people from York and then finished with some proverbs to complete. Some we knew very well but what do they mean! Meanwhile Wimbledon continues with many of us following day by day.

This week we have focused on Father's Day recollecting memories of our fathers and creating a collection of thoughts. We all said it was important to stop and take time to reflect.
Today a group of us went out for coffee and cake and then had our crossword session sat in the garden.
Sunday is international giraffe day, so we shared some "Did you Know" facts about giraffes. We are all gemmed up should anyone ask!!

This week some 1:1 time using our paint boards which are water activated. Then onto our RELISH puzzles which are excellent for hand eye coordination and starting points for conversation and speech.
