Lovely to be able to support a larger group of our residents to the coffee shop. Everyone was on fine for and the hot chocolates were a hit with several of us. It is so important to be able to get out into the community and the team at 6 On Castle Street cannot do enough to make us feel welcome and supported.

And so the heatwave continues!!
We started thinking we would play games I'm the garden but it was so hot, we opted for ice lollies and chatting about everything and anything. Talking about the local area Toni shared with us a painting of the house she lived in for over forty years.

This week we took our chair exercise class in the orangery - lots of fresh air. We tried the stretch band today for that extra strrrrrretch! .
Some 1:1 time - word challenge scrabble! Looking forward to the sunshine this weekend and next week.

Best of luck to our sporty spice Aidan this weekend, as he runs (not cycles) The Great West Run on Sunday!! He's raising money for Exeter Leukaemia Fund - donation details in the comments!
We will be thinking of all the runners in this heat and cheering you on from our riser recliners, our wheelchairs, our deckchairs and our benches!! We all think you are amazing!! Go Aidan, you've got this!! 💪🏃‍♂️‍➡️

1:1 time yesterday - testing our word power at Scrabble!!
Then today chair exercise in the orangery. Today we used the stretch bands.

So last week we talked about Eurovision and how it all started and how it has grown over the past 70 years. We set up our European flags and of course our Union Jacks to spur on the UK entry! We listened to some classic UK Eurovision winners!
This week we started with a scrabble morning whilst listening to an audio book - "The Island" by Victoria Hislop.

Today we enjoyed another mini musical experience - reminiscences of war time hits. Some we sang along to and some were sung with added choreography from our inhouse dance champion Debbie!! Lovely morning and great to hear our lovely residents singing the songs they knew so well.

In the week of Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday we started the week by talking about some of the world's endangered species.
We had to match picture cards to the animal names and match a guess as to how many of that species exist in the wild. We then listened to animal noises and tried to guess which animal made that noise!!
