🌞 June at Barnhaven Care Home 🌞

What a wonderful month we've had here at Barnhaven, filled with laughter, celebrations, and making special memories together!

We celebrated the King's Birthday in true royal style with a delightful afternoon tea party, where residents enjoyed delicious treats while wearing the beautiful crowns and decorations they had crafted themselves 👑☕

The excitement continued with the World Cup spirit as residents got creative making flags before taking part in fun football games, including penalty shootouts and pass-the-ball challenges ⚽🏆

Wimbledon brought plenty of smiles as we enjoyed watching the tennis together on the television while sipping refreshing Pimms, tucking into fresh strawberries, and even having a go at our own friendly game of tennis! 🎾🍓

The June heatwave certainly kept us warm, but we stayed cool with lots of ice creams, refreshing cold drinks, and plenty of time relaxing together in the sunshine. 🍦☀️

We were also delighted to welcome back Katy from Sing Yourself Well Our residents absolutely love her visits, and everyone enjoyed singing, dancing, and reminiscing together during her much-loved remembrance music session. 🎶💃

We also enjoyed some lovely trips out this month, with residents visiting the Hartnoll Hotel and Toucan Café for drinks, delicious treats, and wonderful company. It's always so special to get out into the community and enjoy a change of scenery together ☕💙

A very happy birthday to Barry, who celebrated his special day surrounded by friends, laughter, and lots of birthday wishes. We hope you had a fantastic day, Barry! 🎂🎉

Her dedication, reliability, and caring nature make her a truly valued member of the Barnhaven team. Scarlett has settled in wonderfully and has quickly become an important part of our family.

🌼 May Highlights at Barnhaven Care Home 🌼

What a wonderful month May has been at Barnhaven! We've enjoyed plenty of fun, friendship, and memorable moments together.

🎯 Our residents had a fantastic time taking part in group games of bowls and target games, with lots of laughter and friendly competition along the way.

🚌 We enjoyed trips to Greendale Farm, where residents shared lunch together and enjoyed a leisurely walk around the farm to see the animals.

🌞 As the weather improved, many residents spent time relaxing outside in our garden, making the most of the sunshine and enjoying the fresh air.

🎤 We were delighted to welcome Katy from Sing Yourself Well. Residents thoroughly enjoyed singing along to familiar songs that brought back many happy memories and sparked lots of conversation.

💆‍♀️ Our residents also enjoyed some well-deserved one-to-one pamper sessions, providing an opportunity for relaxation, conversation, and a little extra self-care.

🎶 One of the highlights of the month was hosting our Garden Party. We were delighted to welcome residents from Margaret Allen Care Home to join us for a wonderful afternoon of BBQ food, music, games, and great company. It was lovely to see everyone coming together and enjoying the celebrations.

⭐ Employee of the Month – Pippa Croker ⭐

This month we are proud to recognise Pippa Croker for her exceptional dedication and the outstanding end-of-life care she provided to one of our residents.

Pippa's support for the family during an incredibly difficult time was both compassionate and deeply reassuring. Her communication throughout the weekend was second to none—clear, calm, and consistently thoughtful. She ensured the family felt informed, supported, and never alone.

Her professionalism, empathy, and unwavering commitment truly embody the values we strive for every day at Barnhaven. Thank you, Pippa, for the incredible difference you make to the lives of our residents and their families.

We are currently looking for NIGHT AND DAY CARE ASSISTANTS to join our BANK team in our fun and friendly residential care home.

🐣 April at Barnhaven 💕

What a lovely month April has been here at Barnhaven! With the arrival of spring, our residents have been enjoying plenty of fresh air, fun activities, and special moments together.

🐣 Easter Celebrations - We had a wonderful time celebrating Easter with fun games, laughter, and a delicious Easter lunch shared with friends. It was a truly joyful occasion for everyone involved.

Residents have been making the most of the brighter days with trips around Bampton for fresh air walks. We’ve also enjoyed visiting local cafés for a cuppa and cake, along with a lovely coffee morning at Bampton church visit.

🚌 Day Trips & Adventures - Our outings this month have taken us to some lovely spots including Tiverton Museum, a relaxing lunch by the river at Fisherman’s Cot, and scenic visits to Watchet Harbour and Wimbleball Lake. These trips are always a highlight and bring lots of smiles.

🧩 Activities at Barnhaven, we’ve kept busy with puzzle club, crafts, and getting our fingers green with the garden perfect ways to stay creative and enjoy the season.

👏 A big congratulations to Kayleigh Harris-Pincombe for being named Employee of the Month! Kayleigh’s work ethic, flexibility, and positive attitude make her an invaluable member of our team. She consistently goes above and beyond to support new staff, offering guidance and encouragement that helps them grow in confidence. Her genuine compassion and the strong connections she has built with both staff and residents truly set her apart. We are so grateful to have her as part of the Barnhaven family—well done, Kayleigh!

🌼 As we move into May, we’re excited for more outdoor adventures, seasonal activities, and making the most of the warmer weather together.

Barnhaven currently have vacancies for full time contracted care assistants and Night care assistants
Are you someone who;

Can deliver personal care and support to individuals?
Enjoy helping people fulfil their daily task or goals
Have thought about or have worked in care but found the hours unpredictable or allowed for no pre planning for personal life/commitments?
Barnhaven are currently looking to welcome new members to our friendly and supportive team of care assistants, we have Full time and Part-time contracted hours available on a two-week rolling rota, giving you the stability to plan life commitments in advance. Alternatively, we have bank work that offers complete flexibility from month to month or week to week depending on your requirements.
Shifts are 7-2 or 2-9 for contracted hours and will involve alternative weekend working. Bank hours are picked up to suit the individual and include the shifts above and nights 9pm-7am.
No previous experience needed as full training and induction will be given. It is preferable that applicants hold driving licenses or have access to transport other than public transport as bus do not run at times suitable for shift starts and finishes.
