🚗 Not all care jobs are created equal 🧡💚

When you're looking for a role in care, it's easy to be attracted by a higher hourly rate. But before you apply, ask one important question...

"Do you get paid for travelling between the people you support?"

The reality is that some care providers do not pay travel time between visits. That means you could spend part of your working day driving from one person to the next without being paid for that time.

🍝 Building Confidence, One Meal at a Time! 🧡💚

Today, Kieran spent time at home with his support worker developing his independent living skills by preparing a delicious pasta bolognese from scratch.

With a little guidance and encouragement, Kieran fried the mince, added the sauce, cooked the pasta, and put together a fantastic meal all by himself. 👏

The best part? He enjoyed it so much that he went back for a second helping! 😋

We currently support two individuals who receive 24-hour care, helping them to live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes.

🧡 Positive Impact | Supporting People Through Life's Important Moments 🧡

Today, one of the amazing people we support achieved something that was a huge milestone.
A young gentleman with a learning disability and anxiety attended an important hospital appointment for an MRI scan. As he is non-verbal, unfamiliar situations and medical appointments can understandably be challenging.

Thanks to the reassurance, patience and encouragement of one of our dedicated support workers—someone who knows him incredibly well as part of his small, consistent support team—he remained calm throughout the scan, followed instructions, and successfully completed the procedure.

Moments like these remind us why consistent, relationship-based support is so important. When people are supported by familiar faces who understand their communication, routines and individual needs, it can make all the difference.
We're incredibly proud of both the gentleman we support for how well he managed today, and of our wonderful support worker whose calm, compassionate approach helped make such an important appointment a success.

It's about so much more than getting from A to B—it's about building trust, reducing anxiety, promoting independence, and ensuring everyone has equal access to the healthcare they need.

Our Home Care Heroes have been out and about today proudly getting into the spirit with the wonderful people we support. From England flags to hats and plenty of smiles, it's been fantastic to see everyone joining in and sharing the excitement together.

Supporting people isn't just about meeting care needs – it's about creating memories, celebrating special moments, and enjoying the things that bring us all together.

Today was Stacey's first day with the Libra Support Services family, and we'd like to give her a very warm welcome! 🎉

Kieran enjoyed a fantastic day out today with his support worker, Simone, at Shibden Hall, where they spent the day playing mini golf in the glorious sunshine! 🌞

It's been wonderful to see Kieran engaging so well with his support, enjoying the fresh air, having plenty of fun, and making the most of a lovely day out in the community. Days like these are all about building confidence, creating positive experiences, and supporting people to enjoy the activities that matter most to them.
