Alert!
One of our clients has unforutnately had a fire.
Our client has done the right thing and requested a review of their fire risk assessment, and we have conducted an incident investigation.

The fire has caused moderate damage to the bedroom of a service user under the age of eighteen.
This was caused by the service user charging a v**e, under their bed using a USB output from a Playstation games console.

Additional control measures have been introduced, including the use of appropriate charging devices for mobile phones, v**es etc.

There has been information today on mainstream media regarding the use of non British Standard adapters and chargers, and the risk of fire and electric shocks posed by items that may not be UK compliant.

Every place of work should conduct some form of portable appliance checks, and our PAT testing service will help to reduce risk, however, please remain vigilant in the workplace and ensure you are using appropriate electrical equipment.

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services covering electrical appliance safety checks, visual inspections, compliance testing, and workplace electrical safety support.

Failing to have a suitable fire risk assessment can put people at serious risk and leave the responsible person or organisation exposed to enforcement action.

In England and Wales, fire safety law requires responsible persons to assess fire risks, record significant findings, and maintain appropriate precautions;

Non-compliance can lead to enforcement notices, restrictions on the use of premises, prosecution, fines, reputational damage, and potentially invalidated insurance if a fire occurs.

Fire risk assessments are just a small element of our service provision, click the link below to see how our full consultancy support services can keep you, your staff and your company legally compliant.

Tomorrow we'll be at a care home in East Lancashire, doing this!

Online, or generic training is all well and good, but does it show you how to interpret your fire alarm panel, or look at the differences between Defend in situ/PHE/Full evacuation?
Where's the hands on use of evacuation equipment or fire extinguishers?
