🍽️ We had a great time at Bodriggy Academy last week, helping them prepare for their Big Lunch community event.

Throughout the day we made fruit scones, cheese scones and 3 varieties of houmous. It was fast and furious (and extremely messy) but a fantastic success.

Alongside our healthy recipes the children made pasta salad, rice salad, fresh bread, fruit crumbles and fruit salad across the rest of the week. Families were then invited to share it all together after school on Friday. Lots of community activity providers were also there showing the children what they offer.

🙌 It was a brilliant community event enjoyed by many - thanks for letting us be a part of it!

🌳 It’s been a pleasure working with the team at The Lost Gardens of Heligan over the last few weeks delivering NHS Health Checks and Health Assessments.

Supporting staff to take time for their own health and wellbeing is vital for a healthy workplace, and it’s been great to see such engagement and positive feedback throughout.

🗣️ Becky Barff, Executive Assistant at Heligan said “We’re quite a healthy bunch at the Lost Gardens of Heligan and instil a culture of care and wellbeing to ensure our team feel fully supported. The introduction of Healthy Cornwall health checks has been incredibly valuable and given our team the opportunity to focus on their own wellbeing and make positive changes to benefit their lifestyle. The feedback from the team has been overwhelmingly positive.”

✅ If you’re a local employer interested in supporting your team’s health and wellbeing, Healthy Cornwall would encourage you to explore offering NHS Health Checks in your workplace, it’s a small, simple step that can make a massive difference.

🥚🍳 We had a fantastic time delivering a fun and informative Jamie's Ministry of Food UK cooking session with parents and children at Falmouth Primary Academy last week.

👏 Everyone got stuck in, learning new cooking skills, exploring healthy ingredients, and creating delicious meals together. It was great to see so much enthusiasm and teamwork, with families building confidence in the kitchen and taking away ideas they can try at home.

Thank you to all the parents, children, and staff at Falmouth Primary Academy for making it such an enjoyable session – we loved every minute! 🙌

Unfortunately the Royal Cornwall Show has been cancelled today due to dangerous weather conditions.

Royal Cornwall Show – Saturday Closure

It is with great regret that following a thorough assessment of forecast weather conditions and their impact on the showground, the difficult decision has been taken to cancel the final day of the Royal Cornwall Show on Saturday.

The safety and wellbeing of our visitors, exhibitors, competitors, members, staff, volunteers and contractors has been central to this decision and remains our highest priority.

We recognise how disappointing this news will be for everyone involved, particularly those who had planned to attend, exhibit or compete, and we would like to thank all our stakeholders for their patience, understanding and support.

Further information for ticket holders, exhibitors, competitors, members and other stakeholders will be communicated as soon as possible through the Royal Cornwall Show’s official channels.

🍽️❤️ We recently had our final session of the Jamie's Ministry of Food UK/Healthy Cornwall Parent & Child Cooking Sessions at St Stephens Community Academy.

Saving the most involved meal to the last, the children had the opportunity to prepare and cook all of the elements needed to make delicious Fajita Fake-Aways! We even made our own salsa and guacamole (minus the chilli of course) and practiced our very dramatic avocado squashing faces!

For 5 weeks, the children built on their cooking skills and nutrition knowledge. Their confidence in the kitchen and around trying new foods grew week on week. Each session the children were very eager to share the delights they had been attempting at home and have promised to keep their new found love of cooking alive after the course by using Jamie’s recipes and follow along videos.

The children were very grateful to receive their well-deserved certificates, Healthy Cornwall water bottles and googly eyed creatures.

🙌 Thank you to the ever enthusiastic staff and parents of St Stephens Community Academy and to the children for keeping their cooking skills alive!

Michelle and Amy had such a beautiful and enjoyable day at Sand Safe 2026 last week in partnership with Falmouth Town Council.

It was a great time chatting to beach users, hula hooping, talking/listening to radio chat around the world, making seagull scarers, litter picking and learning about our beautiful sea grass beds under the sea around Gylly Beach.
