A less exciting update today, unfortunately I have had to make the decision to set up mileage zones, I have attempted to draw a basic map of the areas, if you're not sure where you land just give me a shout and I can let you know.

Details
Within the orange circle (up to 30 minutes drive) No Fee
Up to the pink squiggle (up to 1 hour drive) Β£5 per person/horse
Within the Blue area (South of the River Dee and out to Aboyne) Β£10 per person/horse.

I may be able to reduce/waive fees if I have multiple horses at one address for certain areas, this would be on an individual basis. Group bookings are great, but can be caught out by people cancelling once a discount has been arranged, and just causes more admin time.

Anyone currently on a subscription or a block booking is exempt from travel fees.

This is active from 1st June 2026.

Well April was super busy, which always tends to happen once the weather starts to improve after winter.

Things got a bit hectic and I ended up eventually working 13 days in a row (not quite on purpose). I still haven't mastered diary management even after 24 years in Physio!

Anyway, last week I was definitely flagging, but along came these beautiful flowers from a lovely client, and it was great to see my sponsored plank in use at Deveron Branch of The Pony Club Show Jumping at the weekend 😊

Here's to a slightly calmer and more energetic May πŸ€—

Please share your best springtime motivation photos to keep me going πŸŒ±πŸŒΈπŸŒΎπŸ£πŸŒ€β˜”οΈ

A really interesting video from Russell at Centaur Biomechanics. Although I don't have the fancy tech, I am able to assess you on and off horse to help you change your riding to help your horse.

Day 3 at Horses Inside Out and today was all practical at Vale View Equestrian Centre. The day included spinal assessment, postural assessment, conformation and movement assessment, nutrition assessment, rider asymmetry, hoof asymmetry, and dental examination - all brief glimpses into how we can assess, support and manage soundness and symmetry in our horses. The day was bookended by two excellent lecture demos from Ros Canter taking asymmetry into account and how to manage this in training elite event horses, then from Sue Dyson and Jeanette Brakewell training for longevity.

What a lot of information! Great information which does end up giving me a longer list of things to go back and read up on further.

Day 2 at Horses Inside Out Conference. The anatomy exhibition gets bigger every year. Look at the size of these bones next to my hand! This horse was an 8yo 16.3hh Warmblood.

Do you know which one is the femur and which one is the humerus? (I'll answer tomorrow)

I am away this weekend engaging my brain at Horses Inside Out Conference - Soundness and Symmetry, with world class speakers and a chance to catch up with colleagues and peers.

A very handy car share with Liz Watt and lovely to see Sue Palmer (The Horse Physio).

3 days of extreme thinking 🀯 has commenced. 😎
